They're exceptionally well-made. VERY hefty and well-built. We placed two of them on the deck after they arrived scratched. The scratch marks had rusted after one night in the rain. When I contacted the vendor, they promptly shipped a replacement set (at no cost) to me. I ordered a cover (from Amazon) to use at night to cover the chairs and table, and it's perfect. The chairs are absolutely beautiful and extremely comfortable, with just the right amount of "bounce. " " I really like them.
For a solo assembler, here are some pointers: You might want to read this review unless you have an extremely strong grip and upper body strength. br> Without the help of another person or a few extra pieces of equipment, I would not have been able to put these chairs together. A small plant table, measuring 16 x 16 inches and standing 17 inches tall, was the ideal workstation for me because it allowed me to sit while doing the majority of the work, giving me more leverage. The outer runners/arms do not simply snap into place because the chair has some spring. To line up the bolt holes, you must pull against the metal runners' strength. When the chair is finished, that tension is what gives it its spring. The issue is that I am not physically capable of holding it in place, balancing it, and screwing in the bolts. C - a four-inch clamp was ideal for resolving this problem. br> I also discovered that a ratchet-type mechanism could be useful. To save wear, I used an Allen wrench bit on the handle. My hands are soaked in tears. The small Allen wrench that comes with the assembly works fine, but it causes my hands to become sore after a while of use. In addition, I used a small amount of WD-40. All of the inner-workings are rated at 40. When it came to installing the bolts, some of the frame nuts were a bit rough. Before starting the assembly, I double-checked that all of the bolts were in place and that they would screw in and out straight and easily. Last but not least, two of the bolt caps required a minor modification. The bolts under the arms were flush with the frame, leaving no room for the plastic cap's thickness to slide in. As a result, I trimmed a small section of the caps with a pair of kitchen scissors to allow them to slide into place easily. I'm guessing the caps I had to trim are going to fall off at some point. However, they are functional for the time being.
These chairs are one of our favorites. They're both incredibly comfortable and durable. Both chairs come in the same 70-pound box (unassembled). Because I was unable to lift the box, I had to unload the contents outside my front door. I spent several hours putting the first chair together (instructions are just oversimplified step-by-step drawings). After completing the first chair, the second chair took only one hour to put together. They're a great deal (reasonably priced), and I believe the time and effort put into putting them together was well worth it, earning me a 5-star rating.
To remove the heavy duty zip ties, you'll also need a pair of sturdy scissors or something more powerful than a box cutter. Part B was put together by connecting the leg/arms to the seat first, then the arm to the back. The arm to the back is difficult and necessitates the assistance of another person or, as one reviewer put it, a clamp. The screw head is so large that it rubbed against the arm metal, causing the screw to cross thread, preventing the cap from fitting on due to a lack of space. For this connection, a smaller head screw should be used instead of the H screw. We also found that attaching this section before installing the C cross bar was easier. Then it's just a matter of getting comfortable in the heavy, solid chairs.
Pros: These chairs are extremely durable, even though they are only 30 pounds. Despite the fact that they only weigh 3 pounds each, their bulk makes them appear much heavier. When you try to move them, you get the same feeling. Possibly the most well-known To date, this is the only Amazon-built product I've bought (it's from China). They're highly recommended, and I'd buy them again in a heartbeat. br>br>Con: if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is not the place Three of the allen screws that connect the armrest to the "rattan" back were too close to the underside of the armrest for the plastic screw covers to snap on. To make them fit, I'm sure I'll have to shave a little. But that was about all I could come up with, and even that was a bit picky. br>br>Update: Plastic allen screw covers can be easily fixed: P320 was the model I used. To flatten the buttons, use grit sandpaper. Rubbing them across the sandpaper took only about 20 seconds for each. Cutting with an exacto blade is much more difficult. br>br>As for the assembly, I read that some people had a lot of trouble with it, and that it's really a two-person job. work for a single individual I have issues with my joints, tendons, and lower back, but I had no problems. However, there was a specific sequence that I had to follow. I started by screwing the allen screw through the appropriate arm and into the side of the "rattan" back, but not all the way, once the "rattan" back was connected to the metal seat frame (that was the only time I had to use the provided allen wrench—for the rest of the assembly, I used an allen bit on my cordless drill). It was then a simple matter of swinging the metal seat frame up and connecting it to the arm's metal support frame. It wasn't a difficult job—but the pieces are each very heavy and sturdy—so it wasn't easy. It was a no-brainer, especially since it was on sale! Grand Patio, you've done a fantastic job!.
The chairs aren't too high to block your view of the table, nor are they too low to provide adequate support. The chair's back is completely woven, which I really like. The faux wicker is a soft mix of tan and brown with a hint of grey to soften the appearance. When you sit down, you'll enjoy the gentle rocking. These are great if you want to stay and relax after dinner. You might be disappointed if you prefer to eat while sitting upright, but after 15 minutes, I believe these would win you over. You won't find a better deal anywhere else. Oh, and they're a big, solid-looking chair.
For my son's apartment patio, I purchased two of these chairs. He needed something heavy because he was on the fourth floor! These chairs are exactly what I was looking for. I read in the reviews that they were difficult to assemble! Those should be ignored! I'm a 66-year-old woman who did it all by herself! No problem at all! I took great care to tighten the screws without stripping them! It's a pleasure to sit in them. They were a hit with him! I strongly recommend them!.
