When my chairs arrived, I thought to myself, "There's no way these spindly little things are going to hold me!" Like other reviewers, I thought to myself, "There's no way these spindly little things are going to hold me!" I thought whoever put a 1000 pound rating on these was completely insane. Now, I'm not sure if these chairs can support 1000 pounds, but they can certainly support 305 pounds. After receiving and using mine, I believe another reviewer who claimed their friend weighed 400 pounds and the chairs were fine. When you receive the chairs, they appear to be of low quality, as if they couldn't support even 30 pounds, let alone 1000 pounds. The downside to these chairs is that they don't have drainage holes in the seats, which means they'll collect water, especially if left outside; I have the mahogany, and it shows every water spot and piece of dust you can imagine; there's also a warning from the manufacturer about letting water sit on the chair, but they don't say why. I'm not sure if it affects the chair's finish only, or if the structure is affected as well. Another concern I have is how well they will perform in temperatures above 110 degrees. Because they're made of plastic, they'll melt or become structurally unsound. But, aside from those issues/concerns, these chairs are fantastic.

It made me happy when they arrived and were already assembled when I pulled them out of the box. Then I noticed how light they were to pick up and realized that this was not going to be a strong signal. My assumptions were incorrect. These are incredible chairs! Strong, attractive, and tolerable in terms of comfort. Yes, they're made of plastic, but you'd never guess it by looking at them. The only drawback is that they're a very shiny black. I'm talking about a very glossy finish. Apart from that, these chairs have won us over!.

For my newly remodeled kitchen, I needed something that was both reliable and attractive. These are exactly what I needed. From afar, they appear to be made of wood. When you touch them, they feel like plastic (hence the four out of five stars). However, they look great and are light enough for my elderly mother to slide them across the room on her own, but not so light that she is afraid of flying across the room. I was under the impression that I would require cushions, but you do not. I checked a few places for prices and found that Amazon had the best deal with free shipping.

But, after reading the reviews, I decided to start with two chairs, which came individually wrapped in a box with a fitted cover. I'm going to get two more of these.
