Questions & Answers

What is the maximum weight it can ?

In its assembled condition, it can withstand a snow load of 30 lbs per square foot and can withstand winds up to 75 mph.

If I need to cover a 38' span, can a 10 x 28 and a 10 x 10 be connected Additionally, can the extended legs for the support be manufactured with an additional 20" height?

Having some experience in this area would be helpful. As I assumed that the 20ft x 10ft would come in a set, I purchased it alone. I was surprised to see that it had been delivered in two (2) sets of 10ft x 10ft with extension kits. Once you have them installed, I can tell you that you can extend them for as long as you like. Due to the fact that every 10 foot x 10 foot set comes with its own mounting hardware and Here are some examples This item comes with two 10ft x 10ft and one extension kit to connect them together if you purchase it in the 20ft x 10ft size. As an example, if you purchase two of the two 20ft x 10ft panels to cover your 38' x 10', they will come in four sets of 10ft x 10ft curtains with two extension kits each. As all of them are adjustable, a total of 40 feet will fit your 38 foot So, for example, my foundation is 18 all the way across, but I bought a 20 all the way across and adjusted it to the right size for me. Adding them together actually is just a little more complicated, but it is not that challenging.

Will it be strong enough during snow season and during windy conditions? Sometimes we have 6 months of snow where I live in NY. ?

Knowing snow can be a problem is something I learned from living up in northern states. As a result of installing my own, I can assure you that it is I would be concerned if you were hit directly by a cat 1 or higher hurricane, then it would hold up to strong winds. The hardware has to be installed correctly, and it needs to be anchored once installed. When it comes to snow, I would say that if you build two feet or more of it on top of each other, it would be cause for

I hear popping noises under this patio cover when the temperature dwindles from 72 to 62 degrees. What can cause this? What are the chances of this happening often?

I can hear popping and cracking! There is a lot of noise! There are more and more cases of this happening. It has been more than 10 years since I bought the roof. Replacing the panels might be a good idea.

It can be configured in a wide variety of ways
5/5

The purpose of this review is for someone who wants to modify or change the factory settings to suit their requirements. Over my old patio cover, now 4ft beyond my foundation, I built a leveled surface that was completely surrounded by my roof. I only have a foundation of 18ft x 8ft and my eave has already extended outwards and covered 4ft of that. There are many patio covers I looked at to see if I could modify them for what I need, but many of them are fixed configurations. There is no doubt in my mind (1) Have it level and over my roof (not angled downward as it is here in the factory) (2) have it extend 4ft from the foundation for better rain/shade coverage 3) reroute it to direct it along my roof-line I'd recommend that I 1) extend it to the same height as my columns, 2) build it on top of my existing columns, and 3) make it a breeze funnel. Maybe you are wondering why I want to level the ground and how the drainage is going to work. This one has smooth roof panels so water runs off easily either to the front or the back, as I previously owned one similar to this. I want it leveled because it looks better, and I want drainage for the water to run off. In looking at the assembly video of this patio cover, I decided to buy it since it's designed to suit my needs and I can modify the configuration to accommodate my needs. 20' x 10' is the size I purchased. With the extension kit and additional 10ft x 10ft sets, they sent me two (2). This was modified Although I knew the posts would be shorter than my 8ft columns, until I saw the specs and descriptions I wasn't sure exactly how much shorter they would be. A total of 82 posts have been made. The tallest person in my class is 5", not even 7ft. As long as I install them angle like the factory does, and four feet from my foundation, the front of the house will be obscured As low as 6ft might be possible at the end. My opinion is that it is too low. In order to modify them anyway, I will do as I thought. The current height of my column is approximately eight inches. As a result of the extended base and cap, the table top measures 5ft. Each of the four posts included in this 20ft x 10ft configuration has a 25mm diameter. Seeing as I would like to rephrase My columns will serve as my extra posts, so I will use them to extend the other 2 posts to match the columns' height. A 20" piece of one of the unused posts was cut into two pieces. My next stop was Lowe's/Home Depot, where I bought 4 pieces of 10" long L-shaped tubing Usually used for connecting steel house frames together, galvanized connectors come in a rectangular shape. I looked for the thinnest heads regarding screws that could be used to join the posts while I was there. As a result, these screws are white in order to match the column. Into each L-shaped hole I inserted two pieces of paper The posts are connected with shape connectors, and the 20" extensions are attached to shape connectors. I have two Ls Connectors are in the form of rectangles, which fit perfectly inside these posts for a high degree of strength. Attaching the two sides together was done by drilling holes on both sides. As a result, the connection is rock solid and strong. This thin white strand of hair It is hard to see that there are seams because the screw heads blend in so well. As a result, I mounted the 8 extra pieces on top of the caps, and the 4 extra pieces served as the bases for unused posts. The groove of the beam lined up and was perfectly level. It didn't require extra holes to be drilled and even the screws I was provided were similar to the ones that were supplied. I mounted it on top of my roof using treated wood, cut the blocks into 10" blocks, and attached them to the roof using long non-corrosive screws Install the patio cover back on the patio, and replace the rusted screws These are the blocks at the end. In its fully assembled state, it is about 9 feet long from the foundation to the roof panels (instead of 6 feet at the front). It will end the same way as it started). Standing under it feels much better than standing in front of There is a lot more appeal to it with the columns in person than you see in the attached photos.

Materials & Equipment This quality is It is an excellent collection of materials. There are aluminum frames on every part of the structure and the roof panels look like they will last for longer than 15 years. It is because of this that the warranty is for 10 years. I would give this product 5 stars based on the materials and design A quality product. * Design * In my opinion, the design of the building is well thought out because every joint and beam has grooves which let you adjust the angle and size of the foundation to your taste. As a result, the roof panels block the sun while allowing light into the home. In addition, I have since modified the height of the structure, which I like because I see cool air from underneath. As far as design is concerned, it gets 5 stars. The instructions are I don't think anyone who has dealt with some handy-work would have a problem understanding the instructions No technical work is necessary for the work. I've looked at other patio covers that are around $1,400 - $1,600 for a 20' x 10' patio cover. Despite this, I am not allowed to modify them to suit my needs. Nonetheless, I'd give it a 4 out of 5 I gave it 1 star because I couldn't afford it. My friends and I like the modified version that I did better than the original configuration, that's the bottom line. It is of utmost importance that my wife likes the end result. She and my six-year-old like it. I am so happy to see my daughter, who is four years old By the way, all of this was installed by me. It seems that my wife has helped in some way. It was so much fun when she brought me lemonade a few times. . . I hope your day is going well.

Bright to the point of being blind
3/5

Rather than looking like a greenhouse, the panels are translucent. Quite a few of the metal components have impressed me due to their ease of installation and quality. My problem with translucent panels is that I HATE them. A laser beam line is created when the sunlight is reflected back onto you like a green house, baking you like a green house. The light is extremely bright, and the atmosphere is My ideal patio cover is exactly the opposite of that. The only way I would give it 5 stars is if the panels were dark. The product I purchased is not what I wanted. a drape system out of conduit and painters' tarps to make the most of it.

However, the popping noise is the only thing I dislike about this patio cover
3/5

Except for the popping noise it makes when the temperature changes, this patio cover is great. Palram sent me clear panels instead of the tinted ones of my vehicle (it previously had tinted windows). Although the clear panels make it pop, it still looks good.

I am happy with this product
5/5

It is a solid product at a fair price. The product was good and it was cheaper than paying a local business that wanted over $50000. A concrete drill bit/hammer drill purchased from Home Depot for under $80 can be used to set proper anchors in the concrete. The anchors can be purchased at a local hardware store. The project took me about 10 hours to complete. In addition, I created gutter downspouts from black 2 inch pvc as you can see in the photographs.

Built well, looks great, and is well worth the money
4/5

There are a few things they could improve. My favorite part of the patio cover is the awning. It is important to consider a few things. A clearer picture of measurements would be helpful. A 24'x10' was delivered to me. Approximately 22' by 8' was the size of my patio. As the arbor is 5' I thought I could let it dangle over the edge of the patio to go over the roof line from the Although it worked in my head, it did not work in practice. There is no information on the documentation about the size of the front of the cover (lower side), so there is no way to find out before buying what size it is. be sure to measure if there is an obstruction in your way. I want to point out an odd thing about the gutter -- they have you build it in step three, and it is last on the roof. The gutter end cap must be fixed on before the gutter is attached. It would be more logical for them to put that part of the assembly instructions closer to when it is You have a hard time following these instructions. The only explanations are in the form of This is bad. Sometimes these instructions are very complex, so you need to take an extra amount of time to "think" about them before you assemble them. According to a review, the rubber seal between the two kits does not fit well, which leads to leaks. As the rubber is bigger than the slot, it raises the rubber in the middle, so it should be fine.

The cover is nice. I live in Oregon, and we get a lot of rain. Now that I can go outside no matter what the weather is, I can enjoy it more. Roofs are well lit by light coming through them. There was no difference in light levels in the house as a result of the change in sun level. As it rains, the roof makes a hum like the sound of rain. I have an idea how a WWII bomber airplane engine sounds, but it's As part of setting up a delivery date, I was contacted by Amazon about an issue. (her English was so hard to understand that I had to call another rep to try and resolve the problem. He couldn't figure it out, so a third person I called managed to solve the problem. It is $500 cheaper now, which infuriated me. I complained about it today. Before I received the product, they offered me a refund for $90, but refused to waive the fee. There are two parts that go the full length of the patio cover (the bracket for hooking it on the house and then the gutter). So all in all, I love the patio cover. Installation took about 8 hours. There was a difference in the way they were split or cut. This bracket was cut in three pieces of 10', 10', and 4' to equal 24' and this gutter was cut in three pieces of 7', 7', 7' to equal One of the gutter pieces had to be cut with a saw to fit (again, because I messed up the measurement), but the other was cut by leaving out the four feet. My panels are available, if anyone wants them. I have four extras if anyone is interested in them. Overall, it is not a bad project, and I also love the look of it.
