Waterproofing is not an option

This isn't a waterproof cover. I secured a dry table by covering it and securing it; one of the days it was covered, we had some light rain. When I removed the cover a few days later, I discovered standing water on the table, which has now ruined my expensive table.

For the past month, I've been using these covers. The top's original black color has faded to a soft reddish brown. I'm trying to ignore it because it does protect my furniture, but I think it'll turn into an interesting burgundy color by the end of the summer. It's hard to say how long it'll last.
