Seattle is on the West Coast, and the last few winters have seen quite a bit of snow fall. Of course, there have also been a lot of rainy days. I have been very happy with the durability of my Veranda Patio Bench Cover. We have not experienced any leaks with these. They are water resistant. In addition to the outdoor items I ordered this summer, I bought a couple more.
I have seen them on a glider in heavy snow this winter. I am not sure of their size, but they do make them in a table size. With all the snow and our early, heavy spring rains, the cushion has stayed dry. It has been 3 seasons since I purchased this glider cover. I highly recommend it. For the price, you get a good product. I agree with you, tarps are far superior to them.
