It comes with instructions and is simple to put together.
I live in Florida and use the stand all year, but only when it gets below 40 degrees do I put the cover on. Even if the temperature remains in the 40s but it is sunny, I keep the cover on and zip it up. If the weather forecast calls for temperatures above 50 degrees and sunshine, I keep the cover on but unzip it and pull back the flaps to allow air to circulate. At 70°F or higher, I remove the cover completely because the sun heats it up, just like a greenhouse, but because there is no air circulation inside, it can become too hot and kill young plants. All you have to do now is experiment with it while keeping in mind the conditions in which the plants you place in it thrive. I hope this has been of assistance.

In January and February, this size is ideal for sprouting to get a head start on plants.
28 May 2019 update: Early in April, I moved my plant starts outside to harden them off, and I used the plant rack for this as well as to start some lime beans later. The plant rack was dismantled tonight after I finished planting everything out last weekend. The poles are already starting to rust. Cheapo! I bought a similar style rack somewhere else eight years ago, and it's still in great shape with no rust and has been outside for several spring/summer seasons. br>br>At this point, no one should expect a reliable semi-rigid product from this product. On a deck or patio, you can have a permanent greenhouse. I bought what I now realize was a different brand of this temporary greenhouse design a decade ago, and it's been great for seed starting in the spring in my Midwestern garden. Storms resembling those seen in the Midwest are uncommon in the Atlantic. When bad weather was forecast, the shelving could easily be moved against the house, and when seed starting was completed, it could be disassembled, stored in a box, and reused the following year. br>br>With the exception of the reinforced cover, this brand's version is extremely flimsy; the plastic side connectors are thinner, the wire shelves are even thinner, and the shelving pulled apart when I moved it four feet from shade to sun. Because the weight of just flats of tomato and pepper starts in small coffee cups is bending the shelving, look for other brands. Even if they're $20-$30 more, the ones with lower gauge wire shelving (thicker) are a much better buy for seasonal use in an area that isn't prone to dangerous storms. $30 more.
Basic shelf unit that is simple to put together. Will never be able to hold the same amount of weight as the advertisement suggests. The issue was that I had two flats per shelf with seedlings, and after six weeks, the front bottom (left side in pink picture) plastic leg where the post is inserted broke (see leg and broken support sleeve in first picture), causing the unit to lean forward and fall over. What a shambles, as you can see from my half-finished clean-up. Flats on the floor have already been cleaned and replanted, but dirt and mud remain. I got to my feet and investigated the issue. Wont re- Use it, but don't put your faith in it. This was ordered to take its place. Nexel 798760 is a phone number that can be found on the Nexel website 18" W x 36" L x 74" H Shelf Wire Shelving Unit, Black I'm hoping to use the green cover on the new rack.
Update: That, on the other hand, did not last very long. Despite being secured to the railing with some thick string, it managed to blow over even in the lightest of breezes. It's fantastic if you can secure this in some way. Otherwise, if it blows over, it could harm your plants.
- br>br>The cost of this item astounds me. While it has flaws, the value is sufficient for me to give it a 5 out of 5 star rating. br>br>Assembly was incredibly simple and straightforward-- I completed it in about 5 hours by myself. Time limit: ten minutes The connectors are made of plastic, while the poles are made of metal. I can see how a heavy load or simply exposure to the sun could crack them. It's a little wobbly and flimsy at first, but once you put something inside to weigh it down, it becomes more stable. It gets nice and humid inside when the zips are closed. br>br>There are two things to keep in mind: A) it blows over easily, and B) it probably can't handle heavy loads. I don't think you'll have any problems if you have a few small pots and secure the greenhouse well. To keep it attached to the balcony railing, I used string. You don't want to take the chance of it blowing over and destroying your plants. br>br>This was ideal for my requirements- Cheap and light, they're ideal for experimenting with smaller pots and kratky hydroponics systems.
Because the plants are tall, I only used two shelves in the photo. Every spring, we rush to get our annuals. Place them in larger containers one at a time. Put them in a small portable greenhouse to keep them warm. This is the best deal we've seen in a long time. It's the perfect size for putting on a furniture dolly (shown) and rolling into and out of the shelter on cold nights.
It was delivered on time and in good condition. Plants that are small will work. Plants are still alive after 2 months, which is fantastic for the winter.
I needed something to start seeds in a relatively warm climate and keep the seedlings safe from rabbits and other nibblers, so mine came with a minor defect in one seam, which explains the 4 stars, but even so, I am delighted with this product; I needed something to start seeds in a relatively warm climate and keep the seedlings safe from rabbits and other nibblers, and this product delivered. I ordered a second one because the first one worked so well for me. I'll be happy to have it even if it only lasts a few years (it's not particularly durable).
It's simple to put together, which I like. I only got it a few months ago, so I can't comment on durability just yet, but I like the plastic fixtures used as the joints between bars for ease of assembly and (hopefully) disassembly when the season is over. I wish there was a crossbar at the top between the front and back arched bars, as it seems like it would add a little more stability. Right now, that isn't an issue because I'm using it in my sewing room to start seeds for my spring flowers. I've knocked it around a bit as I move seedling trays and grow lights around, and while it shimmys a little, it doesn't seem to be in any danger of collapsing or pushing/falling over. So I'm confident that it can handle the load I'm putting on it for my indoor needs. The grow lights are suspended from the underside of each shelf (with one duct-taped to the cross bars above the top shelf because there's nothing else to suspend it from), and there's no sign that they're being overloaded. br>br>I'm not using the cover right now because the setup is indoors, but I'll put it on when I move it outside in a month or so to harden off my plants. I like how it has a green mesh running through it because I think it will help block some of the sun so the seedlings don't get direct sunlight right away. It also feels more durable than the plastic on my previous small greenhouse (of a different brand), so I'm hoping it will last longer. Overall, I'm pleased with it and would purchase it again. br>br>.
