An adequate replacement can be found in this diaphragm. If the valve leaks, it may take a few days for the entire mechanism to adjust. An Irritrol valve that has been in service for over 22 years had to have its diaphragms replaced. In the initial step when I installed the replacement diaphragm, the edge of the diaphragm did not seal completely until I tightened the screws several times over a period of hours. The valve itself also needed to be cycled several times until it closed. Although the valve had been fixed, it still leaked a little bit even then. The water was turned off to the valve for a few days, then it was turned on Everything worked well in the past and is continuing to work well. After installation, it seems like something needs to get hydrated for the system to work properly. Try not to give up on it after that.
The valve was completely misligned and I thought that I had aligned it properly so that the pressure test would pass.
