In my opinion, this is not the case.
It is a 14-tooth gear I am accustomed to the gear from an older 18" rig. This craftsman dlt300 tractor comes with a Briggs and stratton 5 horsepower engine. 1997 was the year I think it was. It should work, according to my guess. The company will also work on the Husqvarna 18 for 2020. I checked the battery five hours after I got it since I had a back-up battery.

It is an excellent starter and was much less costly than going to a dealer for my 42" Craftsman Pro ride-on mower.
