A manual probably isn't going to give you a part number, but there is a diagram in the section where you replace the line. My research on Black and Decker GH610 brought me to a Sears website that had a manual reproduction Similar to the one in the picture. I tested the motor on a newer GH600 model, and it also worked. As long as it hasn't been abused, it should work, and if not, it should be able to be returned.
GH900 is compatible with this case. If I had the money, I would purchase a few.
I do not see it specifically in the manual that I found online for this model. You can usually do that. This should work if it has a lever for controlling the line

In spite of your best efforts to keep the spool cap from touching the ground when in use, it will always touch the ground. time, it is going to erode all the way through, along with this tiny, tiny lever, along with being in direct contact with the ground for a really long time. When just putting in a new spool, this little thing falls out on its own! There are two ways to spell it It would have been better if Decker had added a thin sheet metal layer to the outside of the spool cap to protect the plastic during ground contact, and this lever should either snap into place or should have an O-ring to keep it in place Various rings, cotter pins, and other components are used to build this three-lever system. After buying this replacement part, I had to purchase another one since my electric b and d trimmer would use too much string or stop every 2 feet for a new line to be pulled out. After using this replacement part for about 24 hours, the trimmer broke After not being able to hold the string back for too long, I finally bought a corded trimmer with blade from greenworks. So far it's working well and I'm not having to use $10 worth of string every time.
