It's a permanent marker, to be sure.
There is no odor that I am aware of. I like them, but the tips are a little blunt, and some of them have become "squishy" at the tip. Mr Sketch markers, which have a strong angled point, wonderful aromas, and a wide range of colors, are now my go-to markers.
Sharpie Flip Chart Markers have a line width of around 2 inches in bullet tip. 1 mm.

These are the cream of the crop when it comes to writing FLIP CHARTs on paper. They're bright and clear, but they don't bleed, and they're easy to clean if you make a mistake. When we give presentations, we take the pages off the easel and tape them to the walls throughout the room. Then add to the pages as needed. These markers do not bleed through the paper and onto the wall, which would be a complete disaster if it did, as it would if you used permanent markers on flip charts. This isn't a dry erase board. If you use them on your white board, you will end up with a sloppy mess. They use the Expo white board cleaner to clean up.
I had a surprising amount of trouble finding markers for multicolored paper - And they weren't scented markers, either! Only these chart paper markers are available. I left mine at work and had to borrow a coworker's (off-brand) markers. They were nothing compared to the brand. In a literal sense. They weren't as bright or as noticeable as these markers. Also, a word of advice: You can save more than half the price if you buy them "used," as I did when I bought three packs "used" that were still factory sealed.

As a first-grade teacher, I'm always on the lookout for good anchor chart markers, and these are the ones! They came highly recommended by another teacher, so I decided to give them a shot. The tip size is perfect, the color is vibrant, and the writing is smooth. I haven't had them long enough to comment on their durability.
