Ties do not need to be tied at the ends. Rubber bands of this size are super strong and giant. You can use it to stack items or to bind protective covers to them. They can be wrapped around objects (like hairbands) and twisted if necessary (like a hair band) to double over the object. I especially liked how this worked for securing bubble wrap to the large glass top of the dining room table before moving it. In addition to protecting furniture, they are also used for protecting portraits and mirrors. It was wonderful to see these! The packing blankets and boxes supplied by them were used to pack my refrigerator, leather sofas, fabric sofas, antique writing desk, dining table, and art. I was very impressed with them. In case you were wondering, I have an insane fear of rubber bands. It was a terror to have these stretch so far over a full sofa since I loathe getting snapped by them. The pads and blankets will serve me well if I need to pack and pad/blanket items again in the future.
