I haven't yet filled mine. It comes with 50 cards and a spacer, but you could probably fit another 300 or so in it. I love it
This was purchased as a wedding recipe shower gift for my granddaughter. I've included a few of my personal favorites. It's a beautiful box made of heavy cardboard, and I'm very happy with it. in addition to my granddaughter
It's made of thick cardboard with a nice covering and a cardboard box inside. It's of good quality, and I'm happy with it.
The height would be acceptable, but the length would be problematic. I took a measurement of it and came up with a figure of 6. The number five is a bit excessive. If you're lucky, you'll be able to get to number six. 25 I believe it is viable.

Beautiful custom index cards were included in the first two boxes I received. The third box is the only one that doesn't have any. Because I customize my own index cards to make more subject indexes and keep them alphabetized straight down the middle, the indexes were large and all positioned in the center of the card, which is what I prefer. If you know how to create a Word text box, this is a simple task. You will also find useful hints under the subject. For instance, consider the egg index. dairy: When the eggs are cold, they are easier to separate. Bring eggs to room temperature before adding to a yeast mixture to avoid slowing yeast action, as well as three other suggestions listed below. I long for the return of the original index cards. br>br>I like the 4 x 6 card size, as well as the size of the box, which is ideal for sitting on the kitchen counter. Because some recipes are too long to fit on both sides of the 3 x 5 cards, I'm converting all of my 3 x 5 recipes to this more convenient size. The box is attractive and long-lasting, and the outside can be wiped down with a damp cloth if needed. Like the divider cards, which are large and centered - Subjects A-Z are arranged in this manner. You don't have to criss-cross your Z and you won't have to criss-cross your Z. back and forth crossing I created my own subject labels using the 12 that came with the box and sized them to fit perfectly. I'd like to purchase subject cards separately so that I can sub-contract them. Put casseroles in a category of their own. Overall, I was very pleased with the chicken, casseroles, beef, and other dishes.
This attractive and sturdy recipe file is made of well-constructed and vinyl-covered cardboard, and it would make a great gift for someone who still prefers to use recipe cards over online recipes. My goal was to replace a 46-year-old metal file with sharp corners that, if dropped, would gouge my hardwood floors. The file dividers themselves, as noted by other reviewers, provide product category cooking information. Cooking times and temperatures for various weights of chicken, turkey, and duck are included in the poultry divider, for example. The dividers have more categories than my old file, and any categories you don't use can be flipped over to use the blank back side tab to make new ones. To separate the "bars" from the cookies, I used the "microwave" backside. I still find it easier to retrieve time-tested recipes from a file than to go online and search for them.
I can attest to the fact that C R Gibson produces high-quality products; I've had a similar recipe box for many years and it's still going strong. I decided that I wanted to give each of my five children a recipe box containing all of our family's recipes, so I bought six of these recipe boxes to begin my project (plus one for myself because mine is already full). The quality, design, cards, and index tabs have all exceeded my expectations. I'm so excited to type out, print, and organize these boxes for them that I'm hoping I'll be able to wait until Mother's Day to present them with it. This book comes highly recommended.
This was a gift for my girlfriend, who had a plethora of recipes. It had filing cards as well as extra recipe cards for us, which was nice because our previous cards had categories like "appetizer," "entree," and "dessert," but these file under things like "fish," "poultry," and "pasta. " It's not difficult to incorporate ours, but it'd be ideal for someone who is just getting started with recipe cards.
I write my recipes on 4x6" postcards and needed a simple box to store them in so I could make a collage with them. Just right: simple cardboard, perfect size, well-made, reasonable price.
I really like the quality of this box. The only minor change I would make is that the tabs on the dividers are all in the same row, making it difficult to flip between categories. It's still a 5 star rating because it's so nice and pretty!.
This recipe box is exactly how it appears in the photo. The front of the box lifts up to reveal the lid, which is attached to the box. The cards are the ideal size, with plenty of space to write not only the ingredients but also the cooking instructions. My only criticism is that the cards are almost TOO specific in their organization - For example, rather than broad categories like "entrees," it's divided into specific foods like "poultry. " "Of course, if you really wanted to, you could add your own dividers, so it's not a huge deal. ".
For 4x6 cards, a standard recipe box is used. It isn't too heavy. Tab separators are included in this package. It appears to be large enough to hold a large number of recipes. Even when using online recipe locators, I still feel the need to "file" a recipe that I've pulled out of a magazine or something similar. The colors and design are perfectly captured in the photo. This was given to a friend as a gift. I'll keep you up to date if there are any wear issues.
