Definitely not what it looked like in the picture. Below is a picture of the box of all my Black Warriors from Mirado. There is an error in the packaging of these "Mirado Black Warrior" pencils. There aren't even black or round, and neither are they black. The pencils are not Mirado Black Warrior pencils as you can see on the pencil, but they are Mirado classic pencils. Regaining my strength.
The only thing I could think of was crossing my fingers. My memory says I have more on hand than I do. My favorite were the old ones. The new ones look ok at first glance, but they weren't as sharp as the old ones. A lot more sharpening is required today because the lead is not as thick, the wood is not as good, and the lead is not centered in the pencil as it used to be. It's kind of sad to see how cheap the good ones have become and I wish I had stocked up more.
In contrast to the dark lead of old, the lead is no longer so black. It used to be my favorite pencil to fill my sketchbook. Although it is still dark, it does not have that deep black I loved.
