The index cards are thicker than printing paper, but they are too thin to be used as index cards for students. I cannot see how I will use them as index cards.
Selected User Reviews For Oxford Blank Index Cards, 5" x 8", White, 300 pack (10005EE)
A paper card that can be seen through, not like regular index cards, has been cut to the right size.
A side of these cards is blank (as they are white). It would have been a lot easier to print them out.
It has been extremely helpful to me to organize my notes using these cards. The cards are just about the right size to be portable and still be able to describe a significant concept or idea within one card. I suggest these to those who need to take notes on relatively difficult subjects and who would like to keep them in a more accessible and better-organized format. Notes in a more organized manner than the original form. With their relatively high level of organization at this time, these cards are far superior to storing notes on a computer for the most part. It is true that one doesn't have to keep hard copies of one's notes when one has a computer, but for certain levels of organization, it is appropriate to keep notes in compact, easily accessible A note on each of these cards represents a chunk of information.
If I'd read the reviews before buying these cards, I wouldn't have made this purchase. It just seemed absurd that I should think of index cards as anything but index cards. It is hard to call them cards, however, because they are too thin. As thin and light as typing paper, they can be easily transported.
I probably should have read the reviews before getting them. The notes are something I plan to use in some way, but I felt ripped off. The amounts I spent would have been significantly less if I knew.
The stock on these cards is not heavy like you would expect from a stock index card. Their weight and texture are closer to that of construction paper.
Although I can find the smaller index cards cheaper locally, I don't find many manufacturers who make the larger ones. I use these as precut ARC notebook pages and they work well in a notebook I use for my artwork. I don't have to worry about watercolor buckling my pages with these. I would also use this size for recipe cards if I were to make them.
Unruled cards that fit on my small clipboard were favorites of mine
I have a lot of people for whom I do errands, and I use individual cards for each. It makes my life so much easier.
