Sorry. I'm not sure how well these labels will hold up to the elements outside. I was curious as to how long the adhesive would last and whether the letters would fade or wash away.
On plastics, I haven't used the fabric one. I used the paper one with a coat of mod podge on top. You can avoid fade and wash if you apply slowly and thoroughly, drying in between.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about the Letratag tape. Teflon isn't the same as this tape. Paper, plastic, and a fabric iron on are among the materials used to make the letratag tapes.

I've had a Dymo label printer for a few years and recently realized I was nearing the end of my first roll of plastic white label tape. I'm labeling books (inside) for a library, and I'm expecting to go through hundreds of inches of tape in no time. SO . I ordered this item, and the tape I'd been using ran out just days after it arrived. I took the refill from one of the three packages I ordered and dropped it into the printer, thinking it would click into place. I shut the hatch and printed, but the label came out off-center. Hmmm. I pushed down on the cartridge and it (finally) clicked into place after I opened the hatch again. AH . I hadn't pushed it all the way in the first time, so I closed the hatch and went right to work printing labels. I'm completely satisfied, and I've learned a little more about how to reload cartridges properly. I'd buy from them again in a heartbeat.
Almost all incoming glass jars, spice containers, and even some plastics are used for this purpose. We live in Los Angeles, where summer lasts for ten months out of the year and it is frequently hot - 3 cats, ants, flies, crawling bugs, the ideal climate for people, ick! I put everything in jars and label them [Flour], Ginger, (91% Alcohol), Ground Beef 072917 in the freezer, Coffee - Result: No creepy crawlies in my kitchen! Costa Rica Mild 062317, etc. I occasionally forget to label a jar and then forget about it - Was it oat bran, or was it something else? Is there any kind of cleaning powder? Poison for rats? You'll be happy if you always label everything!.
I made the mistake of not checking what type of label tape I was getting when I purchased a DYMO label maker. Unfortunately, it was the type of paper, which is JUNK if you don't know what I'm talking about. It's just paper with an adhesive backing, so it'll smear, tear, rub off, and so on just like regular paper. Print on tissue paper if you really want to go all out. the non- For sore red noses, try the scented kind with aloe vera. I got the plastic labeling tape to label all of my work gear because if your name isn't on it, it'll likely vanish and end up in someone else's locker. Stapler, bye-bye. It should come as no surprise that plastic labeling is far more durable and resistant to wear. Instead of the paper mache' spaghetti they try to sell you, get it right the first time.
Until now, I hadn't needed them. When I first opened the white label, I didn't notice anything unusual, but then I noticed that there was no tab protruding. I ran it through the machine to see if the tab would pop out, but it didn't. The other two colors are fine; they do their job and I have no complaints about them. I've just placed an order for a second white one. Hopefully, the tab will be visible on these.
I was disappointed that I labeled my clothes with this tape after washing and drying them - The printed writing became illegible due to the tape's burnt (black) appearance. After years of washing and drying, another shiny/plastic laminated white tape I used to label my kids' clothing (no idea what brand) still looks perfect. I'd be extremely grateful if anyone could tell me what brand of tape it was. Otherwise, the tape works great for labeling boxes and other items; the only reason I gave it a lower rating is because I bought it for a different purpose.
This tape is superior to paper tape in terms of durability. Everything from labeling dispensers to labeling the tangle of computer wires dangling from our network is done with it. We print two labels side by side without cutting between them, then fold the long label over the wire so that it covers both sides. Label both ends so you can easily see where a wire leads and where it's plugged in when working with a large number of wires. It's been used to label outlet strips for a dementia-stricken relative so he can see where things should be plugged in. (His wires are also labeled. ) )br>br>The plastic tape is much more durable than the paper tape for this application. Great product that makes life in tech environments, geeky households, and life in general a little easier.
These are only for my genealogy folders. Each couple's folders will be labeled separately. Plastic labeling tape, as opposed to paper labeling tape, lasts longer in my experience. br>br>Today, I discovered a solution to a problem I've been having while reading other reviews. It is not always possible to keep the tape in place. Douglas G. B. Douglas The solution was shared by Huisken on May 23, 2015. In essence, he irons the tape (without using steam) to keep the labels in place. Great! br>br>I wish Amazon sold the labeling tape in more colors.
This one (plastic version) appears to be much more effective than the previous ones (paper version). In a matter of days, the old paper ones would begin to peel away on their own. I always had to cover them with clear tape to make them stick better. br>br>The ones made of plastic adhere better. The stick isn't going to stay with you forever. It peels cleanly away with no residue. However, unlike the paper version, it does not peel off by itself. br>br>I paid $3 in September 2017 for this (single package). 57 dollars, including taxes. So far, everything has gone smoothly, and there have been no issues. If anything changes, I'll update this review.
