I'm so glad I went with this safe! It was incredibly simple to set up and it works perfectly! The door is heavy and well-made, though it appears to be a little thin, which is typical of safe doors. The locking mechanism, on the other hand, is sturdy and thick, and it opens easily. The interior has a removable shelf that is larger than I anticipated. It fits nicely on my shelf and has a lot of storage space inside. br>br> I can easily fit two accordian-style plastic storage folders in there and still have plenty of room for other items. The folders contain all of my tax documents and are the size of a sheet of paper, but much thicker due to the number of documents in each folder. I had to fold it slightly to get it through the door, but only just, and once inside, it fits perfectly on the shelf at full size. This safe is very roomy and durable, and I believe it will last a long time. I feel much safer leaving my valuables at home when I'm not there now that they're all safely tucked away in the safe.
After that, I tried the backup key, which was stuck in the slot with a lot of sloppiness. It was impossible to open the safe because he refused to unlock it. I tried several times with the same result, so I put it in place and tested the electronic buttons, which worked fine. Periodically, I would try the key again to see if it would work, but I never had any luck, so I was afraid to risk this safe. Great size and exactly what I needed, but the company needs to do something about the backup key or this will be a flop.
My favorite feature of mine is the large opening for storing your belongings. It would be difficult to remove once it was affixed to the wall. Once the safe was locked, I found it very simple to open it. In the last six months, I've bought two more from Stalwart Electronics.
Details can be found in the photos. I keep it because I only want to keep important documents from my children when they were young.
It's not clear to me how it could be hacked. Perhaps with the help of a crow. bar, but it appears to be fairly safe. There are two different codes (A and B) that can be programmed, as well as a backup key. Because the codes are battery-operated, having a key is useful in the event that the batteries fail. It can be hung on the wall or placed on a table. For my needs, it's a good size.
The only issue I had was opening it up at first; it took me about 30 minutes, for some reason, and it was frustrating, but I eventually got it open, set the code, and it now works perfectly.
I mounted it on top of the cabinet to store jewelry and guns, and it was a simple installation. My main gripe, like that of other users, is the loud beeps that occur when I press the number keys or the confirm button. I keep the guns in a safe to keep them out of the hands of children, but when I need them, the loud beeps give away my position. Although I understand that this feature is intended for the visually impaired, it should at the very least be disabled. It defeats the purpose, but other than that, I'm satisfied with the safe.
The batteries died quickly, and we couldn't find the keys, so our belongings are trapped inside, and we can't figure out how to get another key. Our money is trapped inside, which is a major issue.
