To begin with, if you keep the box locked, it should be sufficient to prevent careless exposure or risk. Just don't expect much in the way of quality. When the door is open and closed, it drags because nothing is hung on it. The rails with hooks are attached to uneven brackets, which means that even if you push one end of the hook bracket down all the way and the other up all the way, they are not level. The color and number are displayed on the paper tape in the same way. It's also not level, and some of mine were damaged as a result. None of this should prevent you from successfully using the box; however, regardless of what the advertisement claims, don't expect quality. br>br>I demonstrate one thing you can do in my photographs. We added a sign (which was easy to find) and completed the illusion by gluing a couple of electrical elbows to the top of the box and to the wall. Depending on the location, it should be enough to make anyone unfamiliar with the area keep looking for valuables elsewhere. br>br>EDIT (May 30, 2019): Wow! Let me tell you about my experience with "Customer Support. " I needed two additional keys and needed to contact "Customer Support. " I contacted Barska to purchase matching blanks because I wasn't sure if my local locksmith would have them. I had to provide not only the item number and key number, but also images of the invoice and the key, as well as an explanation of why I needed more keys. Actually, I found that to be a little offensive, but that could just be me. I didn't hear back after a week. It was pointless to call. (Their store is only a few miles from my house, but you have to go through the website to get keys. ) I tried again through the website (providing all of the information requested) and received an email requesting more information. This happened three times before I was given permission to order, each time necessitating the submission of a new photo. There was no link in the email, despite the fact that it stated "Follow the link. " Nonetheless, I figured it out and ended up on a page with a price of $12 and a quantity of "5" prefilled. Because new house keys cost $2, this seemed reasonable. I kept going because I was at 50. When I went to pay, I got a rude awakening. "$60. The bill was "00"! That was less than half of the box's original price! I then attempted to reduce the quantity because I only needed two keys. This isn't acceptable. "A minimum order of five (5) keys is required," says the sign. So you decide whether you want to buy a mediocre product from a company that has no idea how to handle customer service and will charge you $60 for a replacement key if you lose it. ***Oh, and if you've bought something from them, I'd like you to answer a quick question. Does your key number appear to be connected to the product? Either they've never sold more than 1000 of these boxes, or they've misled me about the key's uniqueness. I'd like to know which one it is.
The hinge pin holes in the door were punched or drilled out of position in the item I received, causing the door to hang at an angle. (Notice how the gap between the door and the frame on the right side is much larger at the top than it is at the bottom in the photo. ) )br>br>As a result, the door does not fit properly in the frame and cannot be closed or opened without being lifted. br>br>I also have issues with the way the unit's sheet metal was stamped (corner fit is poor). br>br>I understand how difficult it is to produce a product at a low cost. The cost was very reasonable. Basics like door alignment, on the other hand, should be within tolerances! I have no other issues with the product. br>br> The paint is in good condition, and the lock is functional and durable. The key hooks are sufficient in their sturdiness. It has good design features, such as the ability to adjust the position of the bars containing the key hooks.
It's well-made. I like that the key racks can be adjusted so that keys don't get tangled up. You can easily remove the key number list if you don't want or need it, but I didn't find it to be in the way of typing. Because I don't have many keys, having a key box that was larger than I needed helped me organize them better. The only issue, which isn't really a criticism of the manufacturer, is that if you don't keep the door locked and the key in the lock, it will open. The door stays closed and is recessed into the box frame, so you won't be able to open it without the key. Because I don't need the keys to be locked, I'll probably add a small knob later. I like how the keys are hidden behind the door, giving the room a tidy appearance.
There's not a lot to say about this. It's a key cabinet that's big enough for my company's needs. It has a nice sheen to it. The key hangers that come with it are a little cheesy. They hang fine, but the problem I'm having is that there's a white piece of paper for a label that's covered in a thin piece of plastic film, so you can change the label there. Getting the label and plastic film back into the hole is the issue. It's best to use a fine Sharpie to write the name on the plastic film and then leave it to dry. A different type of key tag would be preferable.
Spending $50 isn't necessary when compared to other 70-dollar purchases. Ones that cost one hundred dollars br>However, this should be sufficient to ensure that I receive the service for which I paid. br>br>I gave it a four-star rating because I work for a car company and I've put 30 keys inside, and the door does not close perfectly. br>br>All of the materials are excellent. EXCEPT for what is preventing the door from closing. br>The door and the cabinet are held together by a thin aluminum thing, but it is either too thin or not sturdy. It was a let-down. br>br> br>Everything appeals to me, except for the PERFORMANCE. br>I would give it a three-star rating because I paid for it and it does not perform flawlessly. br>br>and these photos were taken on the day of arrival, after everything had been set up. br>Perhaps this cabinet isn't meant to be turned upside down. br>It NEEDS to lay down.
Without a doubt, this is an excellent location for storing your keys. It's both a study and a good deal. When it's unlocked and the key isn't in it, it's just difficult to open. That could be made easier with a small handle on the outside. however, the price is reasonable.
The box was simple to hang on the wall and appears to be a solid little cabinet. I was irritated by the fact that they chose a non-standard key at random. I needed some extra keys for my employees, so I visited two reputable locksmith shops, each of which has a much larger selection of keys than a typical hardware store. Neither of them had the right key to open the box. I had hoped that simply replacing the lock would be simple, but the cylinder is smaller than usual. Before they could make key copies, they had to drill out the hole and install a new lock cylinder. It would also be nice if the front door had a handle. That is something I intend to do in the near future.
