It appears to be well-made and of good quality. br>I like that it has a rubber cover to keep it dry and protected from rain. br>br>I'm not sure why some people choose to put a key storage box right next to the door in plain sight. It's as if you're inviting/challenging the bad guys to - My keys are in this box if you need to get into my house. Let's see if you can get it open. br>br>For safety reasons, I strongly advise mounting it in a hidden location such as the back yard, back deck, or anywhere else where only you and your trusted family members are aware of it.
The key box is well-made, sturdy, and simple to set up the combination. The mounting hardware, on the other hand, is of poor quality. While drilling into wood with pre-drilled screws, two of them literally broke off. The other two screws were almost stripped after being installed because of the drilled holes. Purchase your own screws as a personal favor.
I tried to reset the code several times in the hopes that it would work, but it did not. After speaking with the support team, it was still not working. I had to give it back to them. It appears to be of low quality. I wasn't going to risk it with a substitute. Hopefully, it was just a problem with the product.
I set the code by following the instructions. Simply move the switch to the reset position, enter the desired code, and then return it to its default position. I've looked at instructions both on the internet and in print. Any code (and I mean ANY) can open it, regardless of what I choose. My box, in essence, is unable to set a code.
My key holder is mounted on a horizontal surface, and I find it very convenient to use. The four-digit lock is simple to open and move. After re-closing the box, the wheels continue to spin. The weather protection provided by the rubber cover appears to be adequate.
The lock appears to be simple to use, but as other reviews have stated, the mounting screws that come with it are terrible. When I was putting the box together, two of the heads broke off. All of the screws seemed to be of the same quality. No way, I guess.
This item was the ideal solution for mounting something that could hold a key. I'm happy with our purchase because it is well-made.
