The product is well-made and finished in general. However, the most serious flaw is that it is not watertight in a downpour. My mail had become partially saturated after only a minor storm. Water seeps in through the openings in the access door and the mail chute. I'm going to try to cut my losses by fixing the leaking situation myself after spending money on the box and installation. This item, on the other hand, is not something I would recommend.
However, the anchors provided are insufficient if you need to install in concrete. br>br> All of our anchors had to be replaced, as well as a large and costly drill bit. The lock is flimsy and is nothing more than a small padlock key with nothing special about it. br>br>The installation took two hours as well. br>br> Using a generic key would make it simple to open the lock. The key hasn't been carved out of anything special. br>br>The box itself can hold small packages such as books or the tiniest Amazon boxes. However, there isn't enough room in the compartment for anything larger.
It appears to be very strong and can answer a lot of questions. The bottom comes out and is adjustable, and we filled it with bricks to keep it from tipping or falling over.
It was well-packaged, but the keys to the lock were missing, so it could not be installed or used. I called Amazon customer service, who checked and said they had no contact information on the vendor, so they could only offer a refund, not a replacement lock or keys. I kept the item, drilled out the lock, and bought a new lock at Home Depot because this was a stupid solution for a $50 item.
We had been looking for something like this.
The mailbox was in good condition, but no keys were provided. I needed to use the box right away, so I had to get a new lock and keys from a locksmith.
However, the company was very accommodating. I only used it for a week because the lock was stiff and the key didn't fit properly, and then the key broke off in the lock! br>However, the company did provide me with a partial refund to cover the cost of replacing my lock. Thanks!.
