Questions & Answers
Yes, changing the code without having to remove the box is very simple.
Although there are no hooks, I used a slightly smaller screw in the top hole and backed it out 1/8" because the box needs to be fastened to a wall. I'm able to hang a key with this setup. ring with several keys and room for a few more at the bottom br> A word of caution, though. If you back the screw out any further than 3/16", it will hit the combination enclosure and prevent the box from closing.
It is possible to reset it. Install it somewhere where you can easily see inside to reset the combination.
Yes, it is incredibly simple.

Excellent craftsmanship. Installing it was a breeze. I would purchase this item again.
I put it under my house's siding, out of the way of rain and snow. I live in Washington State, which is mostly dry except for the winters, which are usually snow-free (except this year). br>br>Starting in year 2, it became increasingly difficult to open. It took me a few minutes the second time I had to use it, but I was eventually able to open it with my bare hands (nails) after a few minutes of struggle. I locked myself out of the house tonight and returned to find that it would not open at all. Lucky for me, I came across an old, rusted knife in the backyard and was able to pry it open piece by piece after about 10 minutes. The number mechanism was not the problem; it was the door hinge, which was completely rusted, glued to the sides or something, and was extremely difficult to open. As previously stated, the lockbox was not exposed to the elements and was only subjected to (generally) mild winters. It only took three years to render it completely useless, indicating that it is not weatherproof. It will, of course, be thrown away.
UPDATED. AN EARLIER REVIEW OF THIS PRODUCT: 3 out of 5 starsbr>It's ok. It must have changed shape when I mounted it to a wood beam on the deck, because opening and closing it is now extremely difficult. When the box wasn't mounted, it opened fine. br>br>EDITORIAL NOTE- When I contacted the seller, he offered to replace or refund the order if I provided photos. When I went out to inspect it, I discovered that one of the screws holding it in was slightly skewed, which had shifted the shape just enough to cause the previous issue. It now works perfectly after being remounted, and I've updated my review to reflect this.
It gives me peace of mind to have this lock box. It's simple to put together and looks fantastic.
This key box is fantastic! It's simple to operate and produces excellent results. The keypad is hidden behind a door, which I think is a great idea. There's also enough room for more than a key if you want to keep something small in there.
Pro: br>• Photo instructions that are very clear. Move a lever, select a combination, and then return the lever to its original position. It doesn't get any more straightforward than that. • When not in use, the door shackle is stored in the box. (The box can be hung on the wall. ) • When I purchased it, it was the cheapest. br>br>Con: if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is not the place (this type of lock, not this product specifically)br>Correct me if I'm wrong, but none of these combination locks appear to automatically relock. You have faith that the person(s) who are using it will relock it by turning the rollers or pressing the buttons. If they don't, and just close it, it will remain unlocked. br>br>I strongly advise against using this type of lock.
Please, please, please do not purchase this item. It arrived on time and was set up according to the instructions. Before putting a key in and hooking it up where I needed it, I locked and unlocked it a few times. NEVER OPEN THE DOOR AGAIN! I tried everything I could think of to get this thing to open up again, but it just wouldn't. I misplaced the money I paid for it as well as a valuable key! Please proceed to the next item on your list.
Let's start with the advantages: We liked how simple the design was, how you could slide a cover over the combo mechanism, how sturdy it felt, and how easy it was to change the code! The disadvantages, on the other hand, far outweighed the benefits: The lock completely failed less than a year later, rendering it useless. The locking mechanism has become stuck; fortunately, this occurred after we had opened it, so we still have the key. We had noticed previously that it had a tendency to stick and that opening the lockbox was difficult.
