Yes, this was a breeze to put together. It's very sturdy and all of the pieces fit. It was an excellent purchase to aid in the organization of my documents as a result of homeschooling our grandson due to Covid.
Even on its own, it's quite hefty. It's also quite heavy when it's full of paper. It is not suitable for mounting on the wall.
No, mine has five shelves that run the length of the unit, giving it a total of twelve slots. You could leave one shelf out of the assembly process, leaving you with ten slots. 2 of which are larger on one side than the other.
Yes, you can do it. This is a very solid piece of equipment.

I ordered this magazine holder to keep my work organized; I use files, but the slots are too narrow to accommodate them. I can't return it because I already put it together, so it's useless to me. br>It's useful and simple to assemble if you don't need to store files and only need to store magazines or papers; otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it.
The majority of other paper sorters are made of cardboard or corrugated plastic, both of which degrade rapidly. This appears to be something that will last for quite some time.
This was purchased to keep my sheet music organized. I used to have a pair of bankers boxes similar to these that I liked, but they weren't strong enough to hold all of my music books. This has a lot more muscle and isn't cardboard at all; it's fantastic. It has a solid feel to it and was simple to put together. The pieces are more cohesive than some of the other low-cost furniture I've assembled. I didn't even have to look for my screwdriver because it was included in the box. It fits nicely in the space between my piano and the wall, giving me easy access to all of my junk, and the slots make it easy to separate my music into genres, composers, type, and so on. I've tried a variety of methods for organizing my music in the past, including file cabinets, cubby holes, and even my floor, and I've found that these mail organizers work best for me (when my music isn't scattered all over the floor). I have far too much music for one organizer, so I quickly purchased a second one to hold the rest, giving me more room to purchase more music. br>br>The slots aren't quite as big as I expected. Many of my music books with binding bend slightly to fit, but this isn't a significant issue for me. The majority of the books that are not bound fit right in.
I bought a similar one that was only half as wide in the hopes of doubling the storage capacity. That was not the case. The shelves are extremely limited in size. Fits a sheet of paper in its entirety. Books and file folders will not fit. Shelves, too, are made of flimsy materials. There isn't even a cut out to help you pull out the paper. I'm sorry I bought it; I'd return it if disassembly and shipping weren't so difficult.
Because of COVID-related issues, we had to relocate our mail station. This one had the right direction at a reasonable price, and it was easy to put together, though the screws needed to be finished with a power drill. br>br>The only drawback we discovered was - Because the shelves are so thin, it's difficult to write specific names on them without causing wear and tear in the near future.
When you try to put it together, the holes are misaligned, and the screw protrudes from the wood's side. It's poorly constructed, with gaps at the top and bottom of the shelf. When I arrived, there were numerous small scratches and scuffs. Return is a subject of debate. Not at all worth the money!.
I'm overjoyed to have it because it allows me to manage a variety of work and personal projects. This eliminates the need to shuffle through a large stack of papers in order to locate the document I require. If you still like to have printed documents and/or magazines in your life and want to stay organized, this is a must-have.
The sturdiness of this caught me off guard. I was able to put it together in under 30 minutes, and by "I," I mean my 13-year-old son, who did an excellent job tightening all those screws. No one pushed their way through or caused damage to the unit. My only regret is that I did not order a larger one. I'm going to buy another one.
