Questions & Answers

These pens are vegan, right? Is there no animal testing?

The pen's barrel was most likely made of plastic. Eventually, the cap was made of petroleum. derived, which came from lots of dead squished dinosaurs. As a result, these pens aren not 100% vegan.

I'm curious if they're worth the money. ?

For artists, writers, card makers, and scrapbookers, Sakura makes the best inks on the market. However, they must be used quickly or they will dry out. If you don't keep them flat, the ink will clog up. The Metallics in this set, as well as the Dark set, are the best, though some of the colors are only suitable for very dark paper. I have a few favorite colors that I find work best for me. Blues, greens, pinks, reds, and purples are some of the most popular colors. Once I've decided on the colors I want, I buy them individually from art suppliers in 12-packs. However, at this price, you can test them out for your needs.

Is it possible for me to use these on a light-colored background? What if the paper was colored?

They do look great on light-colored paper.

If I use the metallic pens on top of watercolor, will they clog?

This is something I've only recently tried! I realize this is an old question, but they work well over watercolor and I used them on a fairly large area. I didn't have any clogging problems. My personal favorites on this medium are the metallic and souffle gelly rolls.

The best gel pens with opaque ink! These gelly roll pens are a dream come true! The ink flow is silky smooth (true to its tagline!) and the colors dry bright and vibrant
5/5

Here's a more in-depth look at some of the gelly roll pens I've tried:

- (Picture 1) When you write or sketch with metallic gelly roll pens, they leave a gleaming sheen. Because the colors aren't as vibrant as the moonlight ones, the designs don't stand out as much, but they still look great. Also, the thicker nib of metallic gelly rolls required me to have steadier hands to avoid uneven texture and smudging, in my experience.

- Moonlight fine point pens (pictures 2 and 3) are ideal for more detailed designs. They dry quickly and are ideal for light coverage. If you're going to use them for a larger area, you might want to repeat each stroke twice to make the colors pop.

- (Photo 4) Moonlight bold pens are also fantastic! For the majority of my artwork, I rely heavily on these. The ink flows smoothly and does not skip when drawing or sketching.

- (Picture 5) I bought the white gelly roll pens separately because they weren't included in any of the other sets. I use them to add more layers to a design, either in combination with other colors or on black cardstock paper alone. br>br>I wholeheartedly endorse these pens and hope that this review has been of assistance!.

Gelly Rolls are super smooth, don't skip often, and come in a rainbow of colors! You're in for a real treat if you've never used Gelly Roll pens before
5/5

They have a thick, smooth line that does not skip very often. I had a set of the red/blue/green gold shadow pens, which are quite unique, but I misplaced a few and needed to replace them for Christmas cards. br>br>In addition, I have a regular set of gel pens that are less expensive - If my memory serves me correctly, RoseArt makes good products, but in terms of smoothness, nothing beats a Gelly Roll. br>br>Though this set is labeled as "Metallic," it could easily be mistaken for "Glitter. " It doesn't have the same hazy gleam as regular "metallic" gel pens; instead, it sparkles a lot (as seen in the photos). br>br>The only strange thing about the set is that it came with two yellow or gold pens. I say "yellow or gold" because they appear to be the same color, and I'm not sure whether it's meant to be yellow or gold. Similarly, I can't tell the difference between yellow and gold if they aren't labeled. The color orange is also quite similar. On the paper, I scribbled "Orange" twice (see photos) - Originally, I was just going to write with it like the others, but then I decided to put it near the yellow/gold to show how similar they are. br>br>Take a look at the photos I took of the pens writing text. The colors appear slightly different depending on how the page is angled, so I did my best to capture it as accurately as possible, but it may not be perfect.

In a generic "mani/pedi" labeled pouch, I received FAKE, CHEAP, and USED pens
3/5

I received dollar store pens in a generic pouch with a tag that reads "10 piece mani/pedi. " That is not all. At least one of the pens has been used and is running out of ink.

I love these gelly pens because they have great colors and don't require priming
4/5

They write beautifully when I use them with my Cricut machine. They glide effortlessly across the paper with no need to prime them first, and they fit in the machine without the use of an adapter. My only reservation is that if you fill in any of the letters by hand, it's easy to see where your last pen stroke was. I would highly recommend these gel pens to anyone looking for a high-quality set.

They are excellent
4/5

These pens have a great metallic blend and opaque color. It isn't overbearing in any way. metallic- It has a nice sheen to it. To put it another way, the metallic pens, in my opinion, are extremely well balanced. I'm pleased with the color palette and how it appears on paper. In the paper tests I swatched and posted here, the in remains fairly consistent. You can write with them just like a regular pen and, of course, doodle. The opacity of the pens, and the fact that they managed to make them vivid, but in a metallic-looking way, is one of the things I like best about them. y way. br>br>The pens I received write smoothly, do not feather, and have perfect ink flow.

Coverage is good, and the sheen is nice, but the ink flows "too freely
4/5

" I purchased these because I needed opaque ink for writing/coloring on black paper, and research indicated that Sakuro jelly roll pens were the best, particularly for black paper coverage. I chose these metallic pens for the sheen effect because I usually use glitter gel pens for coloring, and they do cover black paper well with bright, vibrant colors and a metallic sheen. Everything appears to be in order. They have a flaw in that the ink flows "too" freely, making it difficult to outline or color small areas. Slow strokes cause some of the ink to pool. I have to be very careful not to let the pen stop or go too slowly, or blobs will form; it's not just the size of the nib that matters, but also the speed with which the ink is dispensed. I'm going to see if the finer nib size is available and if it's any better. In the meantime, these are adequate for medium- to large-scale coloring.

Your art supplies should be upgraded
5/5

These have revolutionized the way I create art! I'm not going back to using other brands of toothpaste - These provide a CONSTANTLY FULL/EVEN FLOW OF INK and are SO EASY TO WRITE WITH that they've become addictive! (I know several other artists who prefer this brand, particularly the white, which is available in both fine and bold versions! ) However, the metallics and glitter in this package are some of the best I've seen. With the smoothness with which it applies, I'm not sure how they get the shimmery look they do. And, unlike other gel pens, they don't dry out. Even after months, mine still start writing right away, as if they're new! It's worth a shot!.

The metallic effect is very smooth and beautiful!! They are equally adept at writing on black and white paper. Sakura Gelly Rolls are fantastic gel pens, and I haven't found a better brand!.
