I liked the pen until I noticed a small piece of the bottom plastic housing had broken off after only a few uses. I'm not sure what went wrong. Then a small piece of the housing broke off, and the housing no longer fits on the pen. It has made it much more convenient to use. This is a pen that I would not purchase again. br>br>Cross customer service said I could send it in for warranty repair, but that there would be a $10 processing fee and that I would be responsible for shipping. So, since I paid around $19 for the first one, I might as well order another one after that investment and the time it took to do so.
After owning many of their products over the years, the current line-up pales in comparison to many other former niche' items that were stellar in design and unique in function. The made in China refills are a joke, as are the misleading descriptions of their construction. Because it was bound on cheap chrome plated plastic parts, this pen wouldn't even work at first. In terms of its purpose. The roller moves up and down constantly. each pen stroke is a step down. I despise having to be critical, but the new line of cross pens would be better suited to front-of-the-store discount stores, where they could be purchased for less than $5.
