Ink for calligraphy is available at art supply stores. I recently purchased some from Michael's:
It appears to be; I've handled bird feathers that have fallen from birds before, and it appears to be genuine.
Hello, this pen is compatible with the majority of inks on the market, with the exception of some corrosive inks.

This quill was given to me as a present, and I used it all the time. Until it started acting strangely. br>br>I adore the appearance of this quill; it's fantastic! I got the teal one, and it's stunning when you put it all together with the stand and the little ink bottle. The box is well-made and reusable, and it is not intended to be thrown away. The ink bottle is a little difficult to use because it's difficult to tell where the ink is, so I accidentally dunked my quill in the ink instead of just the tip. I don't write in calligraphy, but I do use this pen for printing and cursive, and it's much more comfortable than any other pen I've ever used! I use it on a variety of papers, ranging from thick paper to thin, lined homework paper, and it never bleeds! This is fantastic! br>br>Or it was until it started acting strangely. br>The first time it happened, the pen gushed ink out faster than it should have, causing the ink to completely bleed and the letters to become spiky. The top of the quill was covered in ink when I pulled out the tip (which was difficult because I was using the regular tip; the extra tips are more difficult to get out and in). It started working normally again after I cleaned it. Then it happened again, and it was the same thing. Ink had been smeared across the top. As a result, I did some Q-and-A sessions. To clean out the quill, I stuffed some tips in there. There was a lot of ink spilled. It's a mystery how it got in. I wasn't holding the quill backwards or anything like that. After I cleaned it out, the tips began to go in crookedly. Not to mention the fact that the ink was still dripping. I then noticed that the tiny slot that holds the ink had widened just a smidgeon. Ink is still bleeding at this very moment, despite my best efforts to close the tiny gap. br>I'm at a loss for what to do. I guess I'll have to look for replacement tips. br>While I enjoyed the quill while it was in my possession, I'm confident there are many better quills available. br>Or maybe it was just a bad one? Regardless, thank you for taking the time to read this review. br>br> Good luck with your day! I hope you have a better experience with quills than I did!.
There are no plastic parts, so it's of good quality. Glass is used to make the ink bottle. The gold flecks on the blue one reminded me of stars in the night sky, so I purchased it.
The feather is stunning. The metalwork is beautifully executed. A clean, black box is used for the packaging. I've never done calligraphy before, so I'm excited to learn with this pen because it's a nice light weight and has a great shape so your hand doesn't cramp after a while of writing. So far, there hasn't been anything about this product that I don't like.
This was a waste of money for me, but that's what happens when you judge a product solely on its appearance. Instead of a pen, this looks more like a decorative item. Perhaps it's just that mine isn't working right now. br>br>Edit: br>br> I was about to discard this, but I decided to give it one more chance. I superglued the tip into the pen, waited for it to dry, and then inserted a nib. Now it's working perfectly! I never expected to say it, but I ADORE THIS PEN! 😻.
The set is complete, looks great on your desk, and is ideal for both young and old writers and Harry Potter fans. It's a good value for the money because it includes everything you need. br>Came with spare tips that were, in my opinion, of lower quality than the ones that were already installed, as well as a different color. However, as long as you don't press too hard when using it, it should be fine; the one on it is the one I used to test it and write the words in my photos. It appears to be in good condition and is simple to maintain. br>The ink was a little thin, and I would have preferred a sharper, crisper tone. In the photo, I double-checked the writing. It's not bad; it's simply a matter of taste. br>Overall, the weight, appearance, and feel are satisfactory. I believe it is a real feather, but even if it isn't, it looks and feels real to me, so I'm pleased, and it would make a great gift for a Harry Potter fan.
The pen has a lovely design and is easy to hold. It also comes with a small bottle of ink. It's simple to write because it includes two additional tips that you can swap out if necessary.
br>br>Replacing it isn't worth the time or effort, but buyer beware!.
