I'm a big Tombow fan, and this set didn't let me down. By far my favorite pen for hand lettering is the Tombow hardtip. They allow for smaller, more precise lettering while maintaining the overall appearance of a larger, softer-looking font. a pen with a pointed tip My only criticism is that the colors aren't very vibrant, which appears to be a common complaint on this forum. The colors aren't as saturated as my Tombow ABT dual brush pens, but they still make lovely strokes. I've never had a problem with any of them drying out. Also, disregard the one-star rating on this page. These aren't cheap imitations. Tombow is a Japanese firm that doesn't produce in the United States. They do have a distribution center here, but it is only for distribution. Their pens are now manufactured in Vietnam, but as someone who has used both Vietnamese and Japanese-made pens, there is no discernible difference in quality.
The hard nibs allow for a thinner up stroke when writing calligraphy, which I prefer. The ink isn't as juicy as the Pentel's, but that's not a problem for me because it doesn't bleed much, if at all, on various types of paper. Colors are also muted and lighter than Pentel's, but they're still pleasing to the eye. Overall, these pens are fantastic for practicing calligraphy and hand lettering!.
These brush pens are by far my favorite. Because I'm left-handed, I find the tombow dual brush pens a little more difficult to control because of the way I have to turn my paper. If you're a beginner, however, they're well worth the money.
The originals are manufactured in the United States of America. They were made in Vietnam and have a foreign language written on them. They're being returned.
Thread pens with a hard tip are ideal for those of us who are learning to hand letter. I'm excited to put them to use more frequently.
I bought these to use for modern calligraphy, and they're perfect for it. The colors are vibrant and pleasant to the eye. I'm going to buy it again.
The tip isn't super flexible, which helps with the shakiness that comes with beginners learning modern calligraphy. It's a nice small brush tip for smaller modern calligraphy and good for beginners because the tip isn't super flexible. The only drawback I can think of is that the colors aren't as vibrant as I'd hoped, especially when compared to pentel sign pens. However, a good set of fundamental colors remains.
When I hand letter, I have a lot of control. These pens come highly recommended by me.
