Is the color a true red or a pinkish red?

True red isn't in this. There is a bright pink undertone to this color. I love it

What would you be able to accomplish with three inches?

I had a very nice size classroom bulletin board, I believe one was about 8 feet long, and I think I even had a piece or two left over. It appeals to me.

Is this a continuous roll or are there different lengths?

Each package contains 35 feet. They're all different lengths as well.

How does the boarder stay in place?

To attach the border to the bulletin board, you'll need to use a stapler. I suppose double-checking is the best option. It's possible to use sticky tape. I recommend them because they created a nice outline for my church's "Missions" board.
