Hello, Office Depot is where I get mine. ribbon (black) with universal twin spool red). Porelon's 11210 Avery 8160 is used as well. I hope this information is useful.
My model came with a battery.
It is not "required" to have a battery. It is connected to my computer. I can, however, use it with batteries if I need to take it to a craft show.
If that's the case, you're obviously loading it incorrectly. I didn't have to put the ribbon in; it was already there. I plugged it in, inserted the roll of paper, and pressed the advance button to advance the paper until it was thick enough to tear with the plastic perf cutter. If you've double-checked everything, I'd contact the manufacturer; they're usually very responsive.

This is the one you should buy, believe me.
Change the calculator you're using. I don't usually write negative reviews, but this one is deserving of one. It's been a year since I bought this Sharp calculator. The paper feed wasn't working when it was delivered. I promptly returned it, and a replacement was sent to me. This one quit working after a year. It is completely unresponsive. We contacted Sharp's warranty and repair department, who informed us that they have been unable to resolve the problem for the past six months. They offered to either repair the $69 calculator for $58 or sell me a new one (ah. Thank you, but no. I would have paid a fair price to have it repaired. I'm not going to buy another Sharp item. I give this the lowest possible rating and strongly advise you to choose a different brand if you want a high-quality device from a company that stands behind their product.
As an accountant, I rely heavily on the machine. For touch entry, the buttons that print quickly are ideal. Unlike those who claimed that there is no automatic 2 place decimal placement, a quick review of the instructions would have shown them how to do it: move the selector button to A and select two decimals; it works perfectly. After my old machine died after 15 years, I had trouble adjusting to the total on the left, but that is no longer a problem. Great machine, solid, and has no trouble keeping up with me when I'm working with large columns of numbers when the printer is turned on.
As a result, I reordered another to take its place. It's extremely useful for keeping your checkbook in order; it's been a long time since I went to school, and I've forgotten a lot of my math skills. As a result, I double-check myself on this. It is something that I would suggest.
Sharp EL2196BL Standard Function Calculator in Black - Sharp EL2196BL Standard Function Calculator in Black - Sharp EL2196BL Standard The figures appear to be glowing. They're big and bold, and they're simple to understand. The keys are a little hard to press. There is no lag between pressing the enter key and printing to the tape, so it doesn't make that strange electronic sound or have that printing lag that a smaller, less expensive calculator can make. For many years, I worked as a tax accountant and had only one Sharp calculator that I used throughout my career. Because it was beige, age and light caused it to turn a strange yellowish color. It still functions, which speaks volumes about Sharp's approach to calculator design. This one was purchased to be used in a different setting. Because it's black, the color won't fade. It's not cheap, but if it lasts as long as my other calculator, it'll be well worth it. So far, I'm very pleased with it.
1) The distance between the paper roll and the tear strip is considerable, and if the paper is not held properly, it will not tear properly. The tear strip made of plastic is adequate - However, if you grab the paper far enough away from the machine, it appears to "bunch" and roll as it exits. As a result, I was unable to tear in a straight line 9 times out of ten. Paper that has been torn and torn. Aside from that minor detail, the keys are in their usual locations (I've been using these machines for over 40 years) and have new functions that appear to be useful. Gripe number two is that there is no automatic decimal place, no matter how hard I try to read the instructions. So, if I'm going to add 12, that's what I'm going to do. 12 into my old machine, it would accept 1212 and place the decimal between the 2 and the 1 correctly. This machine, on the other hand, requires me to hit the decimal point regardless of the circumstances.
For years, I've relied on the built-in calculator in Windows. I finally broke down and spent the money on a desktop calculator and I am 100% pleased that I did. If you believe you require a desktop calculator, you are correct. Don't get a small one that will get lost or 'walk' around while you're typing. Take this monstrosity in your hands and start calculating!.
I've had a difficult time finding a calculator without a printing lag time, which would throw me off. This calculator is exactly what I need. It makes me extremely happy. It was a little more expensive than some of the others, but it was exactly what I needed.
