The purpose for which I purchased it was to prevent items falling down onto my heater below when they roll/fall onto one side of my office desk. There's no way that only the top half of my adjuster would clamp onto my desk due to its rounded edges. I did not realize the bottom piece of the clamp was so short. I also do not know it would be as sturdy as it is supposed There may be a risk of it falling over if I push something hard up against it. The sofa and chair would probably work better for a straight edge desk, but in general, I'm not sure this piece is worth the money spent.

I attached them to the tables soon after they arrived and have found them to be exactly what I was looking for. My first task was to measure and find the exact middle of the table, and then place the divider in that location. It is an expensive system, but it meets my needs perfectly. There is a saying that you get what you pay for, and these are well worth the money.

My intention was not to use it for a desk, but to place it on my kitchen counter as in my condo, the open kitchen countertop faces the living room, and when I hand wash, the water splashes on to my white bar chairs, regardless of my carefulness. Obviously, this is a professional piece of work. The desk can also be easily installed without damaging it. Some other dividers had to be fixed to the desk with screws.
