Questions & Answers
The rollers are simply rubber coated rollers so long as you do not damage the canvas too hard. The handles are designed to allow fairly thick glue to pass around the region where the handles are located close to the rollers. To remove the glue from the wood, I wash them with warm water. As rubber doesn't absorb glue, I can't imagine that it does so with paint. Using this on canvas should not be problematic.
Vinyl, for example, should be able to be smoothed with it. You're likely using a double-sided tape, in which case if you smooth it before you take the second backing off, you should be okay.

I am very pleased with the performances of these brayers. These are not being used for printmaking. They are being used for pressing vinyl stickers. It seems as if they are built solidly.
Their smell is very offensive, and the rollers are very sticky when they are first taken out of the package. These nasty sticky things are not to be bought!.
When I was doing leather work, I got this to help me glue. I have used it for a long time, and it has proved to be robust. As far as cleanliness is concerned, my rating of 5 stars is only an estimate based on the overall performance of the product. Should I need it again, I would get it again.
It was easy to set up and works with my projects well.
