Although the product in its final form is a good one, it could be improved. This product ships in a brown compact box with minimal package foam (kind of like Ikea) and you have to open the package to put the shelf together using screws and pictures (just like Ikea). Normally, I wouldn't have a problem with this, however, the black shelf is scratched easily and shows white marks where paint has chipped away. There were white scratches on my shelf even before I had removed it from the box. In addition, I had left my own scratches in the process of putting it together. You need to keep in mind that it scratches very easily on the black shelf, so you ought to take extra care if you plan on purchasing it. I want to add one more note on A number of boards have no markings that can be used to identify which boards to use and how they should be put together. (I screwed some panels together backwards twice after accidently screwing them on backwards. I had to check everything was put together properly twice more). Additionally, there are some other factors to consider. After all was said and done, it was fantastic! It's simple and easy to do for twenty dollars. Not flashy at all. Everything seems to fit together well, and it Makes the desk easier to organize. A screw is inserted flush into wood so that it sits flush against the surface. I don't mind that there are no caps covering the screws, but I don't mind this Other than that, not much Although I would use your own screwdriver with a bigger handle since it's not included with screws or a screw driver).

The first book I read was random 1 The low stars had missing pieces, so they were validly rated as low. It is common for people to pay much more than what I paid for my unit from Amazon. A valid complaint was filed. I got cheap wood that looks like IKEA for what I paid for it. Trying to screw is a real pain with the screws. I am giving this a 4 star. Composite wood is sharp because it has a concrete-like feel to it. I couldn't load a video to demonstrate assembly but in fairness it took me MT 7 yo to put it together from start to finish, including getting the screws going. I used a hammer to finish things. There were letters and pictures ABCDE on the pieces, so you can see how a 7-year-old would figure it out. It appears in the picture that books can be stored in drawers or cubbies. Unless they are laid sideways, they can not be taken out, but I was able to take enough out of it to clear my junk Because it is on a night stand, it isn't extended to its full potential. It's Ok with me.

I'm really pleased with how this has worked out. I have two kids who are doing digital learning at my kitchen table, so I needed a place for the crayons, pencils, glue sticks, headphones, and other clutter I was constantly reminding In fact, the assembly was very easy, but you have to pay attention to which side of the boards contains the deeper hole for countersinking. It would have been impossible for the item to stay stable if I had not undone one side. On some other manufactured wood products, it would have been impossible. After removing the screws, I was surprised at how stable and quality the board was. It did not crumble and did not make an enormous hole when I took it After reinstalling the screws, I found the screws to be firmly locked in place.

A few days later, their packages were delivered securely packaged together. All 3 of these pieces went together without any difficulty in about 40 minutes. There are literally just pictures in the instructions, so you have to figure it all out for yourself, but it doesn't seem too complicated. In fact, each shelf is actually a pair of separate units that you assemble and stack however you feel necessary. Using my glue gun to secure them in place, because I am OCD like that, once I had decided on the configuration I liked, I did use a drop of glue to secure them in place. I can assure you that you do not To give the piece a more seamless appearance, I also painted over the tops of the gold screws. The amount of room I have for both my skincare and makeup is fantastic, and I haven't even finished putting everything on there.

I am much happier with this organizer than the Ikea one I got. There is a lot of space on the shelves and this is a very versatile product. Living in a small apartment in NYC is very difficult because of limited space. Every time I walk into the office, I see a messy desk. It is now organized, so I don't have to dig through all the papers and folders in my office to find.
