Questions & Answers
This is largely determined by the amount of space you need to fill with this item. For example, if I lower my chair to its lowest setting, I can reach the floor without using this item. The higher I raise my chair, the more space between me and the floor is created, and this product becomes more relevant. br>At 5'7", I find this item comfortable when my chair is set to the highest setting.
I don't wear heels, but those skinny high heels that remind me of stilts might be able to fit through the openings. Because the openings are only 3/4" wide, you'll need to measure your heels before making your decision.
It's unlikely that you could do so without causing damage to the finish. Nonetheless, even without shoes, they are quite comfortable. I don't want to get rid of them. It's a lovely footrest.
No, you don't have to put it together.

I bought it to replace a plastic one that had probably served me well for the previous two years. I expected to feel'squeezed' on this because it was 3 inches wider. That was before I realized that, despite the fact that the plastic one is wider, you still need to keep your feet closer to the center to avoid it tipping over. This is not the case! br>br> The legs are practically on the edge, as you can see. It's not feet, either. They're entire'sides,' which means there's no movement or wobble in the contact. br>br>The'sandpaper grip' is also fantastic, as it prevents your feet from sliding/skidding around far better than rubber surfaces do, and it feels soft, not scratchy, even when worn barefoot (as I type this). It's difficult to put into words what I'm talking about. Just know that once you've tried this, you'll never go back to rubberized surfaces. br>br>In my case, I had a really slippery rug that was causing this to move (problem with everything I put on this rug, not this unit), but I fixed that by putting little spikes on the bottom edges of the sides so it 'bite into' my carpet. You could probably drive a small car into it now and it wouldn't move! br>br>As I previously stated, I am overjoyed. I'm thinking about getting more for other areas of my house where there are chairs.
It's a nice footrest, but I didn't factor in the fact that the "non-slip" surface isn't actually non-slip. The "slip" surface is actually a sandpaper-like surface. I'm sure the texture will make my socks wear out faster, and it's not very comfortable to wear barefoot. If you only use it with shoes, the non-slip surface is a huge plus. However, this is marketed as a product for use at home, and how many people actually sit at home in their shoes? I'd say it's still usable, and you could also wear slippers to solve the problem.
I'm on my second purchase of a StrongTek Under Desk Foot Rest. I stowed them beneath my sewing machine tables. My foot pedal does not slide around because of the tred. I don't need to look for the foot pedal all the time. When I use my heel to press on the pedal on my Juki sewing medal, it automatically cuts the threads. I prefer not to do so because I frequently have to rethread my machine, which is prevented by the angle of the pedal on the footrest. In addition, instead of resting my foot on the floor, I now have space to do so. It's a lot more relaxing this way. I'll get a new foot rest if I get a new sewing machine.
With bare feet, I don't think the gripped part where your feet rest is very comfortable. However, for those who aren't as sensitive to rough textures as I am, it isn't too rough. It does, however, work well with socks or shoes to keep your feet from sliding around. This isn't a con for me because I wouldn't want it to be a smooth surface, but it's something to consider if you plan to use it without shoes. I bought one for my new home office and liked it so much that I bought another for my work office, as I had always used the plastic ones at work and had broken quite a few of them. They're loud, and even the tiniest amount of pressure from shifting positions can cause them to break. The Strongtek one is extremely durable and lightweight, so I expect it to last a long time. I frequently reposition it under my desk by moving it with my feet. This is silent on the carpet, and no one will hear it. br>My only wish is that it were a little wider so that more foot positions could be accommodated. If you're short and need a foot rest, this is by far the best option I've found.
My work hours are increasing, and I've noticed that I'm experiencing some water retention in one of my ankles. I'm aware that I sit far too much, and next week I'll be getting a Varidesk. However, I will be sitting at times, and I prefer to tuck my feet into my socks rather than place them flat on the floor. When I'm sitting, I use this slant foot rest. It's beautifully crafted! Also, it's a great place to put your feet up. I also like how well the surface grips. I think it's the best purchase I've made in a long time, and I highly recommend it!.
One of the wisest decisions I've ever made. There is no need to put anything together. It has a solid feel to it. It matches my decor perfectly! On hardwood, it does slide around, but this is easily remedied. I'm 5'2" tall and weigh 130 pounds. With the elevated support, my knees and hips feel much better.
To make me feel at ease, I had to be moved further out than expected. This was crucial in helping me relieve knee and back pain because I have knee problems. Mine has a proclivity for slipping around. It slides even though it doesn't leave a mark on my hardwood floor. I have shedders in the house. On my feet, the edges feel sharp, but I haven't had a splinter or cut yet. On bare feet, the grip tape is fine; it isn't particularly comfortable, but it is bearable. Socks will quickly be worn out due to the grip tape.
My desk is a little too high for me. My feet can't touch the floor when I raise the height of my chair, causing discomfort, pain, and fatigue. This foot rest is the perfect height for you! Now I can work for hours on end without getting tired!! It'll be a hit with you as well.
