When doing the middle shelf, how does one align it?

Although mine has a clamp and can be adjusted, the shelf is able to support a laptop or a feather light DVD player, but anything heavier than that causes the shelf to lean forward so I had to build a stiffener to keep things on the shelf from falling

Unlike wall-mounted monitors, it can be hanged on the ceiling

There is a slight lack of strength in the shelf. The shelf I know was more designed to support a laptop, so if you plan on using it to mount a power distribution and dvd you might take into account adding support to prevent the shelf from sagging.
