I wouldn't put all of my books in it. It's nice and sturdy, but I believe the boards would begin to deteriorate where the screws are if it were completely filled with books.

Yes. Your own planks, I believe, could be added. Use real wood to make it easier to drill holes in.

I used a drill and had assistance screwing everything together, which made it super quick and easy. It would have been difficult if I had to do it all by myself. Don't screw anything in all the way until all of the shelves are in place, as the instructions state, or the shelves will be crooked. Overall, I'd buy it again.
Overall, I was dissatisfied with this product and believe that I should have paid a little more and waited a little longer for another bookshelf. Almost every metal piece had flaws, and one of them even had a hole in it. It was difficult to photograph it. The welding jobs appeared to be sloppy, and the legs did not match up properly. Several pieces had noticeable gaps when it came time to put the shelves together. It was fairly simple to put together, but because you can't do multiple rotations with the Allen wrench, it takes a little longer. It's up and running; however, the quality is disappointing.
incredibly attractive, aesthetically pleasing, simple to assemble, and cost-effectivebr>br>contrary to popular belief, The stickers on the shelves (which are numbered to aid in assembly) are nearly impossible to remove. Assembly is the most difficult part. What's the point of the shelf stickers, anyway? They're clearly the shelves. . . they couldn't possibly be mistaken for anything else, which was incredibly inconvenient. Another disadvantage is that it is difficult to assemble *on your own*; however, if you place the shelves vertically/on the floor or a bed, loosely screw in the screws, then lift it up against the wall and finish that way, it is not as difficult. It's not impossible. I'm very pleased with it! br>br>.
color- wise, this photo was taken in the afternoon room light, which accounts for the warm tone lighting (lighting does affect the appearance of color)
br>• straight-line The most straightforward instructions, and the most straightforward assembly ever! br>• the packaging was safe All of the pieces were in excellent conditionbr>• ideal for any space, especially small spaces! br>• well worth the money, looked for a similar style - I came up with three options and decided on THIS because it is affordable, simple yet elegant, and it matches my room perfectly - 10/10!.
The only issue I had was with assembly; everything is held together with Allen key screws, and the Allen key's head is too long for quick assembly, scratching the black paint off the frame. Assembly would have been much quicker and scratch-free if the product had included the short head Allen key.
What you pay for is exactly what you get. It was difficult to put together because the screws didn't always line up perfectly with the holes. The screws are also all done with an Allen wrench, so it's time consuming. We just used a drill bit that came close to it, otherwise we'd have been using that wrench for a long time. Whatever is provided to drill it into the wall is cheap and doesn't work, but our son enjoys his new area in his room. We are going to keep it. We are satisfied with it because it is functional.
I purchased two of these shelves, and they both arrived bent on the same side and in the same location. Because it's just particle board, one shelf split when it was screwed together, and the holes didn't line up well with the bent metal rods. The only part of it that is attached to the wall is the very top, which makes it very shaky and unsteady. I'd consider keeping them because of my husband's effort in putting them together and mounting them, but with a toddler, I can't keep them due to their instability. I strongly discourage you from doing so.
This is a fantastic product, and I adore how it looks in my tiny apartment. I had to go out and buy new wall mounts because one of the included cheap ones went straight through the wall while I was screwing it in. The shelf fasteners were extremely tight, so using an Allen bit in a drill would save a lot of time, and the instructions were adequate. It's strong enough to do the job.
