Questions & Answers
I purchased the model with the open top, which allows me to adjust the height of the bookshelf and store my large medical books vertically.
There is no phone number because the company is based in China. I used the Amazon customer service app to communicate with a representative. It didn't end up being worth my time in the end.
The bookcase is sturdy, and it comes with anchors to secure it to your wall...in case you have a "ton of books" on your hands. However, because I use mine to display decorated items, I don't touch it every day...and I didn't use the wall anchors. If you get it for books, my recommendation is to use the anchors to make it more sturdy. This bookcase is one of my favorites. I hope this was of assistance!
The vintage has a black metal color to it.

We had issues with the setup because the manufacturers' drilled holes were not aligned properly, so we had to drill out extra space for the screws to go in. It was not difficult, but I believe it should have been checked at the factory during an inspection process. The bookshelf is made of durable materials.
With one exception, this bookshelf looks great and was fairly simple to put together. The included bolts and cap nuts, which are supposed to hold the stabilizing cross pieces in place at the back, do not work properly. The bolts are just a smidgeon too short, allowing the nuts to catch only just, or not at all- If you get them to just barely catch, but then try to turn them a little bit more, or even accidentally graze them, they will un-catch. catch once more I spent a good deal of time trying to patiently screw them together just right, and I even got my spouse to try in case it was just me, but in the end, only one pairing stayed together. I was fortunate enough to find slightly longer, compatible bolts in my own hardware supply for the other three. However, if the same problem occurs in the second of these units we purchased but have yet to assemble, I will be out of luck because I only had those three. This appears to be a problem that should not have arisen. br>br>Updated on 6/10/21: On the second bookshelf, I found myself in a similar situation. I didn't have any slightly longer bolts, but I did have a few different types of nuts that worked. They are distinguishable from the front of the shelf, but not in a noticeable way. Nonetheless, this is a problem that they must address.
br>Assembly turned out to be fairly straightforward. The first set of screws (parts 1 and 3) were barely long enough, but they did the job. Then, when it came to the supporting bars, I got them all to fit, but the screws were barely long enough to fit through the frame, and the last one wouldn't go into the bolt at all. (Parts 4 and 3) As you can see in the photo, a millimeter of screw protrudes. Seriously, how does a bolt stay on something like that? I got three of the four on, but I'm not sure they'll stay on, so I'll go to the hardware store and get a longer set.
I purchased two bookcases from two different sellers. These bookcases are not all created equal, despite their similar appearance. This bookcase was simple to put together and has a nice appearance.
This shelf appeals to me. It was purchased as a bookshelf, but I later decided to use it to display frames and other trinkets, and it looks fantastic! It was also incredibly simple to construct, and it appears to be quite durable!.
I love this style of furniture and was in desperate need of another bookshelf. It was incredibly simple to put together, and I love that the screws are pre-finished and clean, which means I can take it apart at any time and put it back together without fear of it breaking or becoming weak. It's held up a lot of weight, but it's not as long as I expected. I'm 5'5'' and I can see all the way to the top of the shelf. It appears to be more of a knickknack/kitchen shelf than a bookshelf; the backing bars aren't strong enough to push books to the back, and I have to arrange it so that tall books are at the ends, blocking the side holes, or they'll fall through. br>br>It's really cute and reasonably priced; however, due to the open spaces, be cautious.
They are extremely popular with both of us. Both the metal frames and the wood bookcases are of exceptionally high quality. They were simple to make, and my husband and I were able to work together on them. And the style is extremely versatile; we like the industrial look, and my daughter, who is a book lover, appreciates the light and airy look, which allows her to see all of her books more clearly. I would strongly suggest it. In fact, I'm hoping to use these to replace my craft room's five bookcases!.
