I realize this isn't a high-end product, but I expect to be able to return it if it arrives damaged. I took a picture of the box before I even opened it because every corner of the product and box had been chipped, scraped, and/or dented. When I attempted to return the damaged item, I was greeted with the message "This product is not eligible for return. " If you plan to put this item somewhere where it will be seen, you should not buy it.
Dishonesty is a word that comes to mind when I think of dishon This is a pressed wood shelf that is fairly inexpensive. Not wood. The screw quality was excellent. The design was mediocre at best, with small pilot holes that were difficult to find. br>br>It wasn't a great deal for pressboard, but I needed it, so I kept it rather than returning it. I'm not going to buy any more shelving from Amazon. br>br>Recommendation br>br> When working in areas where glue isn't visible, always use it. Putting together cheap pressboard items like this is a lot of fun.
" " gift. I'm not happy. Having previously used Iris furniture to set up a guest room, I was delighted to be able to give my granddaughter this 2-piece set. After her post-graduation cross-country touring adventure, she needed a three-tier storage unit for her first apartment. br>br>She returned home two weeks ago, many weeks after I purchased the piece, eager to begin her new life in her new small apartment. She enjoys the darker woods or black as much as I do. br>br>How disappointed we were when we opened the box to find a PINK unit, her least favorite color. Unfortunately, due to the passage of time, it could not be returned. Unfortunately, no one in my family likes PINK enough to want even a small free storage shelf. br>br>However, at my church, we knew of a young mother with a tiny, toddler princess who was overjoyed to receive a "table" for her princess's castle! br>br>I made a mistake by failing to inspect the packing box and noticing the incorrect color. It's a privilege for me to be able to make a Little Princess and her Queen Mum smile! )br>br>According to what I've heard, the Iris 2- The tier was just as sturdy as the ones I'd been using for years!.
Because I don't have a front hall closet, I'm using this as a shoe rack in my entryway, and I think it looks great for that. I usually give 5 stars to products I really like, but I'm docking a star because there were no screws in the box. Because this appears to be an imported item, the manufacturer was unable to send me any screws. I couldn't bear the thought of trying to figure out how to mail back such a large item. So, with the bookshelf in hand, I went to the hardware store and worked out what screws I needed with the help of a very helpful employee - It took me two trips to the store, but I was able to find size 10 screws that worked. Screws that are 25 inches long I bought size 8 screws at first, and they worked okay, but the bookshelf was shaky. So we replaced the size 8 screws with size 10 screws one at a time, and it's now quite sturdy. I'm writing this review in the hopes of saving someone who doesn't get screws from having to deal with it. Perhaps the manufacturer will read my review and direct someone in the right direction! Put the screws in the box, or something similar. However, I am well aware that errors do occur. If you're out there somewhere, Mr. bookshelf maker, I'll forgive you. Ok so tl; Dr. , the shelf was a pain to put together due to missing screws, but now that it's in my entryway, I have to say I love it.
This is a simple two-shelf bookcase that is the simplest to assemble of any I've ever used (and I've used quite a few). The instructions are sparse, but unless you get lost getting from your garage to your house, you should be fine with this unit. All of the pieces were present (note that the two-shelf version does not include or require a wall anchor), and the screw holes were perfectly aligned. The screws were driven with a cordless drill, but a regular screwdriver would have sufficed. Assembly took about 4 minutes. I didn't see a weight limit listed, but it appears to be sturdy enough to withstand any reasonable load (it's somewhere between a sheet of paper and an elephant training platform, depending on how you look at it-- I'd say it's between 20 and 30 minutes. 30 pounds per shelf (though I also open soda with the cap facing away from my face, so take that as you will).
For my toddler's room, I required a small bookshelf. For her small but growing book collection, I didn't want anything too large or bulky. Because it is in a toddler's room, I added a few extra safety features, such as anchoring it to the wall and adding corner gaurds and edging strip around the sharp edges. It's ideal, and she appreciates being able to get her books on her own.
I was blown away when I received this; I've purchased a lot of particle board shelving in the past, and this is by far the best I've ever seen. The shelf is delivered in standard pieces, but it is assembled with long screws. It also includes three particle board slats for the shelf backing, rather than cardboard. It also comes with attractive screw hole covers that effectively hide the screws and give it a polished appearance. It's a breeze to put together and turns out to be quite durable. Although I would recommend using a drill for assembly, I was able to do so with just a screwdriver.
I went out and bought a black, three-piece outfit. shelf with multiple tiers I like it, but the space between the shelves is a little smaller than I expected. I'm a college student who planned to use standard notebooks and 3-ring binders. I tried putting ring binders on the shelf, but it was too small, so I ended up putting it on the side of a dresser to fit notebooks and 3-ring binders. Ring binders are a type of binder that comes in a variety of sizes I would have bought something else if I had known it didn't fit in a regular notebook.
