The lock on one large drawer is all that is needed
The bottom drawer of any filing cabinet should always be stocked first, in order to prevent it from tipping The standard for most filing cabinets is that this is the case in accounting.
It took me a while to spot it either, but I eventually did find it. There is a slot for it inside the middle cabinet behind the piece where you A key and a lock are present.
I believe it does not! In addition, the same type of cabinet is available at Walmart or Office Depot for $50 or less. $0.00 is a great deal!

See picture, it's cheap in terms of quality, not in terms of price. My cabinet drawer came to a sudden stop after I was forced to shut it There was no force used and there was no abrupt ending. I've never seen a file cabinet this cheap before!.
It's well made and has a lot of drawers. After seeing some negative feedback, I was very skeptical before ordering. The furniture here isn't made out of real wood. So, it gets five stars for its metal file cabinet capabilities. It is easy to align the drawers A working lock is present and no missing pieces are present. The item arrived in good condition as shown in the picture.
Although the color is only a shade lighter than it appears in the picture, it is a decent filing cabinet for the money. Compared to other reviewers, I appreciated that the lock only locks the top two drawers (which is fine for me as I only needed the top drawer to be locked) and that the metal gauge is very thin. It has been great so far, but I have only one complaint If I forget and pull the second drawer to far, it comes out completely. The tabs have been curved out a bit, but they still bend in and allow the drawer to come out regardless. Since I only keep a few files in it and I can easily put them back in, I am at no risk of this happening, but if you fill the drawer with items, it will become an issue. This is exactly how I expected it to be.
I liked it more than other similar products at Staples and Office Depot. To put it simply, we needed to lock up paychecks until payday, as well as something confidential for employees. It is helping me achieve my goal in that regard. I love those handles, but man, those are very low. Rather than the top, why should they be at the bottom. It isn't as heavy duty as the high quality ones, but still, it is a good price and it is built well enough for the office. The color and images match the product nicely.
My last one I bought at Target was for $43 plus tax several months ago. The colors differentiate them, but otherwise they are identical. It is lighter than the Target one. I find these cabinets lacking in two ways Two problems exist 1) the drawers are too narrow to use the whole space, and 2) the keys that came with the two file cabinets are interchangeable, and I think they should be unique to each file cabinet. The fact that my two cabinets have the same key may all be just a coincidence.
The price is pretty high and the quality is low. The company has yet to respond, so I will update my rating when they do.
I am very satisfied with this size, and the quality is very good.
However, when my office mate bought the same file cabinet 4 years later, we did not expect (or should not have expected) that our keys would open each other's. You totally defeat the purpose by doing that. In that case, you would expect something like that to be disclosed before you buy the product. I am extremely disappointed with this product and I would not recommend it if you need a secure cabinet. The one I have is broken, so I need to replace it.
