Casual Home Shelf Bookcase

I bought one and put it together myself; it wasn't difficult, and I was able to do it without difficulty despite my advanced age. There are only six pieces in total, with one of them being a top-quality piece. Screws and an allen wrench are included. There was no shortage of supplies. I purchased two more and put them together without difficulty. They were extremely low-cost, but they were made of genuine wood. They were stained in a medium dark cherry mahogany color that complemented both colonial and modern furniture. These blend in perfectly with my expensive furniture and books. Everything, including hardware and parts, was present in all three bookshelves, which is incredible considering they are made of real wood rather than fiberboard. The product featured a wide bottom shelf, a middle shelf, and a top shelf that could be used to store additional books, magazines, or display items. The shelf is small, but it has a lot of capacity. Although the back is open, it is sturdy and has two supports in the back. If you're handy, you can add a backing, but if you're not, it will hang flat against the wall. This is, in my opinion, a good value for the money.

Let me begin by saying, DO NOT PURCHASE THIS BOOKCASE USED. Even if the condition is described as "Like New"! That was my very first attempt at purchasing this item; I foolishly assumed that because Used items fulfilled by Amazon Warehouse are inspected prior to shipment, I would receive a thoroughly inspected item. a "like new" piece of furniture that has been taken out of the house That wasn't the case at all. This bookcase was in terrible shape when I first received it, with protruding nails and scratches all over it. It was poorly packaged, and no hardware or instructions were included. Thank goodness, I was able to receive a refund. br>br>I liked the look of this piece so much that I bravely decided to order another one (this time NEW!). It arrived quickly thanks to Amazon Prime, and it was in much better condition than the first. As I was putting it together, I noticed a few minor flaws, but nothing major. The quality was in line with my expectations for the price. It was relatively simple to put together; I completed it in about 1 hour by myself. It took 5 hours to load up the bottom with heavy books, and it didn't seem very sturdy at first. In most cases, I would anchor it to the wall, but since it isn't likely to fall on anything where I placed it, I didn't. br>The only minor quibble I have with it is that it's slightly redder than what I consider "Walnut" (especially when exposed to direct sunlight), but it goes well with my walnut table. I'm satisfied with it in general. br>br>In general, this is a good bookcase. It's not great, but it holds a lot of books and isn't too expensive.

Before you begin, put the booze away if you drink. It will come in handy! If you have children, send them as far away as possible before you traumatize their delicate ears. Cut all your nails, ladies, because you'll most likely snap them all before the game is over. You're about to cuss if you haven't already. You'll come up with new ways to use the F Bomb if you do. Stop reading now if you can't wait. Stop right now if your back hurts. br>If you look at these shelves incorrectly, they will break; they are made primarily of cardboard, sawdust, and spit. Although none of the screws actually fit in the holes, if you force anything, it will crack. The instructions do not specifically state that you should assemble it in the correct order. If you follow them, expect to make mistakes and have to start from scratch! br>This was a complete waste of money, time, and my sanity.
Oh! And! They have a foul odor. They have an obnoxious, chemical odor to them.

I bought four of these for my home office, and they're fantastic. The first one took a long time to put together, but once I got the hang of it, the rest only took 30 to 40 minutes. When assembled, they're quite sturdy, and none of mine arrived damaged, in fact, they were well-boxed. The only thing I would advise future buyers to do is slightly modify the instructions, but I didn't think this detracted from the book shelves, so I gave them 5 stars anyway. br>br>1) On diagram two, it says to put the wooden screw covers on, but I'd wait until the entire assembly is complete and the unit is upright. I discovered that some of the bolts needed to be tightened, and I was able to finish up by putting on the covers. br>2) In diagram three, it is stated that the top shelf of the unit should be screwed to the two support bars and then bolted to the nearly finished bookshelf. Because none of the four I received had guide holes drilled in the top shelf, I bolted the two supporting bars to the bookshelf first, then set the entire bookcase on the top shelf (the bookshelf would be upside down) and used an electric drill to drill in the screws. You do have to angle the screwdriver a little to get it in there on one side, but I had no trouble. br>br>I bought these bookshelves after reading Amazon reviews because I needed sturdy shelves that could hold the weight of books, and I am very happy with them. They're also quite attractive. PS. They're $15 cheaper now than they were when I ordered them three days ago.
