My review comes as a result of an email I received from someone who said that both envelopes of checks I have recently mailed were opened at the top, so I am writing It seems that they have changed the design of these since I ordered them before and that they have a perforated top rather than a smooth top that I thought would work. The return window has closed for now, but I intend to contact Amazon tomorrow to see if they will allow me to return the ones I haven't used or send me a credit since I cannot keep using these to mail checks since safety concerns exist.
There is still a portion of the envelope not completely open for checks to be received. Lower right hand corner of the envelope (from the back) is glued shut inside, so in order to insert a check and seal it, it is necessary to carefully open the corner with a pointed object. There is an unnecessary step to this and it is unnecessary time-consuming. I am delighted!.

Both items came very quickly and the price was reasonable. In the last time that I purchased envelopes, I bought the self sealing type for which I had to remove a strip of paper for the seal to work. The additional processing time required by this trick was not the only issue. I had hundreds of pieces of paper lying around. I made sure to get the simple fold and seal type this time. Those are much more appealing to me. All you have to do is insert the paper and fold to seal it. To keep this style, I'll make sure to buy more every time I need it!.
This is what I order for my office, and I placed my first order several months ago. The envelopes were sturdy as described and what I expected them to be. As of just now, the envelopes in this new box feel much thinner than those in the last order, and the envelopes look thinner as well. If I compare the shots side by side, they are thinner and they don't seem to be 24 lbs. As described in the description and listed on the box, the paper is uncoated. The order I received was not what I expected.
