I am an active snail mailer, and I go through envelopes very quickly. It's important to me to find methods of saving money while maintaining quality. My experience has been that 6x9 envelopes work best for me During the first class 'letter' rate period, 6-inch letter-sized documents can be mailed at USPS first class postage As of January 1, 2014, the maximum mail height qualifying as a letter is 1/8"- A 5x7 photo or mail art swap, or correspondence that needs a little more space, would be ideal with these envelopes. On the day when I bought these 50 booklet envelopes, I felt that they were reasonable in value. There are two quibbles I have, but they're not insignificant.

The 24lb paper is very transparent it is bright white but VERY easy to see through and not at all opaque. Considering the lack of feedback regarding this issue, I almost wonder if something has changed in the manufacturing process? In any case, I do not need lined 'security' envelopes for my correspondence, but I can clearly make out any contents or read any text placed inside - Lighting can still be dim in dim I haven't seen the package labeled, but based on the idea that this is "for all your check and business needs", I wouldn't expect any better. Purchase this item at your own peril. There is nothing thick or heavy about this paper envelope You can practically see through it. Therefore, if you plan on using this for anything secure (that might include your social security number), or even say a picture, or something you want to be a "surprise", this one is not for you. If you press down on the sides, you can basically see through the envelope if you put anything important on the "outside sides". Do not put anything important on the "outside sides" of the envelope. This is thin and practically see through. As well, the adhesive on the sides feels as if it is coming off. The fact that this is falling apart and easily seen through is not really a shining example of "heavyweight and high quality. " There is no need to put everything into the envelope just by looking at it or pressing down a bit and seeing the words inside.

I wrote those words on index cards and put them inside the envelope to show how easy it is to see in different lighting. This is just me going over the word with a pen a couple of times. Sending your sensitive information or something surprising in this envelope may leave you open to suspicion.

As a whole, these envelopes do exactly what they're supposed to and work well. The two things that I object to are the fact that 70 cent stamps are required, instead of conventional forever stamps, and also that the adhesive seal is uneven. For the most part, I had to seal the envelopes with tape on one side. The program works fine, except for these two inconveniences.

I found the size of the envelopes to be good, and the paper was decent for the price.
