It could be adjusted to any height up to the maximum setting. The drilled holes provide added security by preventing it from slipping back down. You could, however, tighten the nut to the point where it would hold it in place. You simply won't have that extra layer of protection. You could always place the pin in the next higher hole so that it only moves a few inches if it does slide.
It should be able to accommodate a standard theater projector. Just make sure the locking knobs are properly tightened. The projector is not secured by a screw hole. You'll need to secure it with straps or use non-slip adhesives on the tray. Drilling holes that line up with existing bottom holes and bolting it in is another option. I hope this information is useful.
I'm not sure how much the measurement is.
Did you ever do that with the weights, and if so, how many?

This is exactly what I'm looking for: a 19" projector stand.
Yesterday, I received the universal tripod stand for laptop projectors. It's incredibly simple to put together, and it'll be ideal for my new mini projector. I needed something that could sit on top of a table and also extend to stand on its own on the floor. This tripod is ideal for the job. It's extremely sturdy and capable of supporting my laptop. The stand's top is flat, allowing it to spin or turn at an angle with ease. This is a product that I would strongly recommend to anyone. Particularly attractive is the price.
I bought this item to use as a platform for my laptop while I was in a life drawing class (doing digital drawing/painting)- There isn't any real typing or mousing going on here. As a result, I don't intend to use it as a computing table. Holding it at about eye level is all it takes. br>br>Having said that, it will serve its purpose admirably- after some tinkering br>br>Quality control, as others have pointed out, is lacking. The quality of the materials is excellent. The quality of the work, on the other hand, is questionable. br>br>On the top, there is a nice and large platform. It has a plastic feel to it and is textured on top. Unless your device is Teflon-coated, it should be fine, and I have no concerns about the stand tipping over if reasonable behavior is observed around it. With one exception, I am extremely happy. The T-shirt is a T-shirt with a T-shirt on it. On mine, the bar to which the top is bolted is welded at an acute angle. As a result, anything on top of it will be at a 20-degree angle. I could exchange it, but it's not worth the trouble when I can simply level it with something on top. br>br>If I ever purchased another Pyle product, I would make certain that I had the time and was willing to return it if necessary.
The following recommendations were sent to the manufacturer and product developers: 1. br>br> The stand would be even lighter if it were made of aluminum or carbon fiber rather than steel. 2. br>br>1. br>br>br>br>br>br It's simple to assemble, but you'll need to remove all of the screws to remove the top tray, and screws can get lost if you move the stand around a lot. If at least one (horizontal) side of the "T" bar had a "sliding pipe insert" (similar to a bathroom shower curtain bar) that could be manually moved in and out and secured with a screw or an inner spring, disassembling would be easier by simply loosening the screws rather than completely removing them (the "O" rings would stay attached to the plastic tray during travel). 3. br>br>4. br>br>5. br>br>6. The tray is made of plastic, which is extremely slick! I use this stand to protect video switching gear and small monitors that I can't afford to lose. I already had self-sticking rubber/silicon anti-slip on hand. Amazon has some excellent slip pads. Manufacturers may be able to provide similar non-alcoholic beverages. Self-sticking pads that slip. br>br>Apart from that, it's an excellent product.
The original review was published on October 18, 2014, and it was as follows: br>As long as you're careful, it'll be fine. However, it isn't particularly durable. I also had to adjust the thumb screws under the platform because they were too close to the wing nuts and made tightening them difficult. I had some 6mm nuts on hand, so I was able to replace the wing nuts. This was significantly more effective. If the legs aren't placed properly, the stand will still tip over. br>br>January update 15, 2015: br>I suppose I should have only given it one star (or none at all!). It took three months to complete. It finally tipped over, and one of the legs snapped. It's truly awful! I guess my annoyance is still fresh in my mind, but who designs these things? I can't tell you how many times it's tipped over with my laptop on it and crashed into other objects in the area. br>br>As I previously stated in my review, it is not very sturdy. That's an understatement to say the least! I recommend avoiding this item in favor of something with a more solid foundation, a lower center of gravity, and a less top-heavy design. heavy. I also attached a small music stand with clamp (which doubled as a mouse pad) and simply tightening it left deep dents in the pipe, indicating how thin the metal is. Seriously, take advantage of my misfortune and save your money.
