Further, your Polycomm phone will not function without power supplied by the router through POE (ethernet cables don't carry power in addition to data) if your router does not provide that power. To power the phone, you may need a separate 48v power supply. If the phone does not even light up, you will need to get a separate power supply. There are some that are not There are some routers that may have one ethernet port that can be powered but not all of them provide POE. POE is usually available on a number of ports on commercial switches. You should be able to use your phone if the ethernet cable that connects to your phone is connected to a POE port. If the software is not compatible, it may still not be able to log into the VOIP server.
There is about a 5 foot cord connecting the power supply to the plug on the phone. It has about 5 feet of AC cord that plugs into the power supply and runs to the wall outlet as well. Almost half the price of the name brand power supply, and it works perfectly.
I ordered the PPOE (no power cable included) version of the Polycom phone, in order to save some money, and then I ordered this unit too. Combining the two, the price was less than what Polycom charged for the complete setup, and the system works perfectly.
Even though this power supply does not have a factory-branded label, it works perfectly with Polycom phones. The price of many of these is a fraction of the price of factory ones, and the quality is same as factory ones. This is the third order that I have placed, so I am very pleased. I liked the product and it was delivered quickly.
I was able to get everything to work right away. This product has been in use for a little over 3 months.
Earlier this week, I installed new VoIP phones in my office. Our POE switch controls all of them, but I added a phone for a co-worker who works out of the office. He needed an adapter to use that phone, and that work's.
Easy to use and does the job well.
The product would not work on the suggested phone - ordered it and it did not work Our order was different from the one we wanted.
My VVX400 has no problems using it. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!.
