This tray isn't compatible with it. The HP LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw printer, on the other hand, will work with the HP LaserJet 550-series printer. CF404A Sheet Feeder Tray

You are not permitted to do so. You can only add one tray at a time.

It does exactly what it says

An HP LaserJet Pro MFP M428fdw multifunction printer now has a lower tray. It was easy to set up (just take off the packing materials and place the printer on top), and the printer recognized it right away. This will suffice if you require additional capacity or frequently print on two different types of paper. It even has a molded "3" in the plastic to match the other trays (as seen in the photo).

This sheet feeder was installed to help me turn my 250-sheet stack. 250 550 = 800 sheets per page HP M404dw laser printer. It gives the printer a more professional appearance and reduces the amount of time I have to refill the trays. Amazon was the seller, and I paid $130 for it. The price is increased to $200 by third parties.

Extra Paper Tray with more volume has been added

Extra Paper Tray with more volume has been added. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it didn't have any options for permanent mounting to the printer. The bottom tray disconnects if someone attempts to lift the printer.

Will not print correct paper size HP has no support

It started printing as if I had put in a larger paper size after two weeks of working properly. I tried calling HP support, but you can't call them; you have to chat with their BOT. I returned it to Amazon, believing it to be defective, and they sent me another, which did the same thing and worked perfectly for two weeks. We're just using the printer's smaller tray for now.

If you can afford it, get it; it's sturdy, it works, and it will save you money on carpet/floor and shoe wear, if you catch my drift. I really like it.
