It works well with letter-sized paper
4/5

As a result, I purchased two of them. The first thing to keep in mind is that this will not accommodate legal-sized paper. It can hold letter-sized papers and up to A4-sized papers. It wasn't a big deal; I just loaded the legal paper into the printer's tray. However, you should be aware of this, and it does not appear to be mentioned in the product description. br>br>Second, the first added tray, now known as Tray 2, is ideal for Letter paper. There's no muss, no fuss, and it's incredibly simple to put together. When I added the second extra tray, it became Tray 3 and I loaded it with A4 paper. On all printouts, the margins appear to be misaligned by 1/16th of an inch to the right, which isn't a big deal, but it's a little annoying. br>br>I'm not sure if it's because it's the lowest tray (perhaps if you load it with letter paper instead, things will be more aligned), or because it's because it's feeding A4 paper, but it is what it is. Overall, if you only want to add one tray, it's a no-brainer addition. The second, on the other hand, I'm not so sure about. Even though it only holds 250 pages instead of 500, this more narrow tray might be able to handle Legal size, and it might work better than the second added tray:

Build of Industry-Leading Quality and Ease of Installation The high capacity paper tray, like the printer to which it is connected, is of exceptional quality
5/5

Even the box in which it arrived was very sturdy and contained the appropriate packing material to protect the contents. br>The tray is simply placed beneath the printer. All of the electrical and mechanical connections are made automatically. Lift the printer and place it on top of this with the help of two people. If you try to do this on your own, it will be difficult. br>There is a small gap between this tray and the rest of the printer body, but it's only a cosmetic issue. Having a ream of bond paper in this tray and using the smaller printer tray for fancy papers is convenient. br>The tray comes with stick-on numbers to help you remember which one is which. br>In software, I've discovered that some applications default to tray 1, which is inconvenient. Always double-check the paper source setting before printing to avoid any unpleasant surprises. br>This is a very well-made product that goes well with the 8700.

It can only last for 5 months before it fails due to lack of paper
3/5

In September 2018, I purchased a Brother HL8360CDWT printer with two trays. Even with a full load of paper, the tray received a "no paper, please load paper" sign after only 5 months, until February 2019. Okay, I switched to a different paper type, which could be related to the paper. There was no luck. br>br>All right, I sent the tray to be repaired. According to the hotline for brothers, You must work with a licensed repair shop in your area. OK. According to the service center, "Sir, we only repair printers; we do not repair trays, even though the tray is included with the printer. " OK. I switched to a different shop that promised to "change everything. " I received the "repaired" tray after a month of waiting. There was no change. The issue has not been resolved. br>br>All right, let's get this party started. I purchase a second tray because I require daily printing. So, in February of this year, I purchased a tray. What do you think? I received the same "tray 2 no paper reload paper" sign EXACTLY 5 months later, in July 2019. br>br>Brother, your "authorized" repair shop is unable to repair your tray, and your tray only has a 5-month lifespan. Is there any way you can explain this to me? br>br>All other buyers should be aware that this tray will only last 5 months with a 30K print load. It fails after 30K prints have been loaded.

It works well with both letter and legal documents
5/5

It doesn't work with legal paper, according to a previous reviewer, which would have put me off if it weren't for other contradictory reports. After several hundred copies, I can say that it works perfectly with my MFC L8900CDW on both legal and letter paper. There were no traffic jams or anything like that. I'm thinking about purchasing a second one.

The ideal pick-me-up! It was simple to set up this add-on unit
5/5

I had no trouble aligning the tray with my unit thanks to the excellent match-up mechanism. For my business, I've been using it for about a month. I haven't had any printing problems that are related to or caused by this tray. If you need a boost for your unit, I highly recommend this. br>br>Con (Added to a MFCL8900CDW in a home office)br>The whole thing is super heavy. Depending on your size and ability, you may need two people to lift it. It increases the height of an already large unit (but not the width), but it is still a large one. It requires its own space, and I'm considering charging it rent.

It's simple to set up and use, and it's also extremely durable
5/5

easy to use This was a great addition to my printer, as it allowed me to use it without having to refill the paper every day - We do a lot of printing here, yes. Advantages: br>br>
- br>Easy to set upbr>- a large capacitybr>br>br>br>br>br Refilling is simple. br>- It appears to have been a part of the original printer the entire time. br>br>Cons:
- It took two people to lift the main printer and place it on this expansion tray - The printer is large and cumbersome. br> Paper jammed on the second and fifth sheets as it exited this expansion tray; I'm not sure why, but it hasn't jammed since then, and I'm now on my third ream of paper. I'm not sure if the first batch of paper had some crinkles or if it took a few sheets to truly settle in the alignment, but. It's something I'm keeping an eye on.

In less than a year, the project is a complete failure
3/5

Not only is the underlying Brother printer difficult to set up, but this add-on also failed after only a year of light use. The signal no longer passes through the wiring in the drawer, according to the repairman, and it would be more expensive to fix than to buy a new one. At $200, I'm not going to buy another. Also included are two Brother original manufacturer cartridges (priced at around $200!). ) escaped from its confines. I've given up on this brand.

So far, it's been simple to set up and has performed admirably
5/5

I bought this to go with the mfcl8900cdw printer I have in my home office because I have to print larger reports a few times a week and needed a bigger tray. It's simple to set up (just pick up the printer and set it on top of the tray). Then all you have to do is make sure the printer driver on your computer recognizes the new tray by going into the printer settings and adding it. Installing and configuring it took less than five minutes for me. It's been about a month since I've used it, and I haven't had any issues. I'm generally pleased with all Brother printers, and I've been a loyal customer for many years.
