My husband had wanted a duplexer since he got this printer from a previous job in 2007. Refurbished options weren't available on Amazon at the time, and buying a new one wasn't worth the money (his printer is finicky with paper feed at times, and he can only fill the trays to 20-page capacity). a quarter of capacity of capacity of capacity He hadn't looked in a long time and was overjoyed when he came across this item. br>br>We've printed a lot of documents since installing (it was a breeze, but the AC power cord plug on our HP4000 N is in the worst possible location if and when you install the duplexer - He used a hobby knife to cut shielding and bend the cable 90 degrees), with results ranging from 2 pages to 128, and the duplexer has yet to fail. This adapter is highly recommended for keeping your old B/W networked printer running.
When I took the package out of the box, I noticed a crack in the cover. If it was just a crack, I figured a little glue would fix it. br>I looked in the box, and there were pieces inside. I was very worried. As I continued to assemble it, more and more pieces fell away. The printer kept registering an error "paperjam" in the duplexer after I inserted it into the printer. If I hadn't used it yet, how could there be a snag? br>I'm incredibly dissatisfied! While working from home, this duplexer was supposed to save me a lot of time and help me be more productive.
br>br>I paid $4 for the LaserJet 4000 at an auction. 95br>It had recently been overhauled and included a new 6000-page cartridge as well as a jet-powered printer. Now it's duplex!br>Direct card! br>br>It's a little noisy, but for the print quality, ease of networking, and low price, WHO CARES?.
It was a little difficult to figure out how to install the product because there were no instructions. It is, however, very simple if you have patience. You can find out more information by searching online. It works once it's installed, but the mechanism is a little finicky. It works, but I've run into a few issues while using duplex and have yet to figure out what's causing them. It will work if you clear the jam and try again.
It's fantastic.
HP 4000 printers and duplexers are a must-have; they're nearly indestructible.
