Because it's bluetooth, you'll need to download an app to use it. I was hoping for something that didn't require the use of an app. I don't want the app on my phone because it's something you can just plug into and print from any phone. My son's phone was having problems with the app, and it took a while for us to figure out how to get it to work. It wouldn't print from the cartridge that came with the printer for some reason. It said it was good for 8 photos, but it kept saying to install a new cartridge. We tried taking it out and putting it back in, but it didn't work. This would have been disastrous if I hadn't purchased additional pint cartridges as a Christmas present. Overall, I believe he will enjoy it, and he was overjoyed to receive it, which he will take with him to college.
When it works, it's a fantastic little printer. br>br>After about 30 pictures of fairly successful use, it's suddenly become unreliable. Even though it's plugged in, it continues to shut down in the middle of a print job. Perhaps it requires more time to charge, but the charger's green light seemed to indicate that it was ready to use. br>br>Then it demanded a new cartridge, despite the fact that the current cartridge had 5 more sheets of photo paper (I opened the cartridge once it became clear I couldn't persuade the printer there were more sheets) in it. This makes me wonder if it's done this before and I wasn't aware of it until I threw away an unfinished cartridge. br>br>Even the app isn't great. I could forgive the app's flaws when the printer worked consistently, but it's now nearly useless. If you're going to use it, I recommend making an album with the photos you want to print and cropping them into squares BEFORE using the app. It frequently freezes, making it difficult to flip through photos and attempt to edit them there. br>br>I bought this printer to make the process of printing pictures easier, but it's currently causing me more frustration than anything else.
It's fantastic to be able to print photos on the go without them being too small or washed out, as some other mini printers do. I just wish the photo paper had an adhesive back so that it could be stuck anywhere. We frequently edit photos outside of the app before printing because the app is mediocre.
The print quality is excellent, but the rest of the presentation is flawed: The prints aren't centered, are oddly cropped, and don't appear to be what they appear to be.
It has a lot of issues, and the images are too dark.
Purchase is not recommended. It stopped working after I printed two photo cartridges. The film will not advance, and the cartridge will not pop out. To get it out, I had to use a paperclip. It was a waste of money!.
The Kodak 3 square has numerous flaws, the most frustrating of which is that it will not connect to my phone. I have a standard Android phone that should be able to locate it, but it isn't.
Excellent product, the quality is among the best in this type of printer, and it is simple to operate.
