The printer and host computer were not connected by a cable included in the box. This appears to be an item that must be ordered separately. Any of the three types of cables listed in the setup guide can be used: an IEEE1284 parallel adapter; an EIA-232 serial adapter cable A USB cable (or a 232D) is required. It would be necessary to use an A Male to B Male USB cable. Because the printer has all three outlets, you can choose (and purchase separately) the cord you'll need to connect it to your computer. It comes with a power cable.

The printer is compatible with both Mac and Windows, but it is a little finicky to set up for no apparent reason. You must manually configure it as Epson 9 pin on the Mac. It comes with a driver disk for Windows users. Then, in the printer settings advanced options, select the highest resolution. I had no trouble printing it on the Mac, but the quality was terrible when I printed directly from Chrome. unable to read On Windows, if I printed directly from a web browser, the print was garbled and the page size was completely incorrect, even worse than on the Mac. To be fair, it isn't advertised as being compatible with Macs, so I'm content with being able to print to it. I print a lot of code, manuals, and other documents and don't want to waste toner on my laser printer for temporary printouts. br>br>A dot matrix printer is the best way to print large amounts of data quickly and cheaply that doesn't need to look nice. br>br>A photograph of raw text printing on lp is attached. o The name of the file in its raw form. txt, as well as a photograph of the same text formatted by the print driver with the lp filename command. txt. br>br>As you can see, the original print is significantly smaller and sharper. br>br>MacOS Catalina is a new operating system for Mac OS X.
These are a much more affordable alternative to my previous inkjet printer, and at around $5 per ribbon, they are far less expensive to run than laser or inkjet printers, and the ribbons last for over 1,000 pages. The print quality is about as good as you'd expect from a 9-inch printer. a matrix of pins If you're printing text or simple graphics, it'll work fine. It's noisy, as you'd expect from a dot matrix printer, but it prints faster than I expected, even at the highest quality setting. Despite Epson's claims to the contrary, it works with Macs. You must manually enter it and choose "Epson 9-" as the printer type. pin Series" driver, which is completely functional. You can even choose from three different print quality options, though I wouldn't recommend anything less than the highest, 240x72, because text becomes unreadable otherwise. br>br>It's been a fantastic small printer so far! I'm relieved that I won't have to pay exorbitant prices for toner and ink cartridges any longer.
For my automotive shop, I bought this printer to fill out carbon copy preprinted work orders. I've never had any issues with it. It's simple to change the ink ribbon, and loading paper is simple as well.
pin, the print quality is excellent; I've had inkjet printers for years and have always despised them. I was driven insane by the high-priced ink cartridges that never lasted and dried up. It's wonderful to be able to print ribbons once more. This tiny dot matrix printer gives me a sense of freedom. Take a look at the video I've put up. The tractor feed mechanism appears to be in good working order, and the printer appears to be a decent little unit.
The quality is terrible. Attempts a variety of things, but the print quality is poor, so I had to return it.
This printer is poor in terms of print quality, but it works well with Sage50 accounting software. It's only for printing continuous form checks that I'm using it for. Other dot matrix printers do not appear to be compatible with Sage50 and Windows 10.
It's in perfect condition.
It's all good.
