Questions & Answers

The description seems accurate, but is it This chip reader comes with both a square reader and a chip reader?

Both of them were received by me. The program works perfectly!

This square chip reader can be used with any phone, right?

Hello Lisa, yes, it is possible. The square app can be downloaded and used with a smartphone that has Bluetooth enabled and the square app installed. In addition to contactless chip cards, the card reader can read magnetic stripes as well.

What is the average length of time it stays charged when it is used continuously?

It is a good idea for me to carry a charger when I attend full-day The number of transactions it processes will determine how much it costs. My device will handle about 12 transactions before needing a recharging in about 6 hours. I did not realize that until the very first time I used it and it died. Besides updates, there have been no other problems. Somebody said it would stay charged for 18 hours. It will be charged as long as it's not used to process a transaction. Whenever you are participating in an event that lasts the whole day, make sure you bring chargers.

Does the client need a chip if he or she does not have one? Could I link both accounts if I only pay tax on one account? Is the old account also wanted, or can I keep it and update it on the new account?

Both a reader and a contactless pad are included in the kit. Unlike contactless payment systems (Apple Pay), it can make payments with magnetic strips as well as using chip technology.

Selected User Reviews For Square Reader for contactless and chip

I purchased it as a replacement for the square magstripe reader I had been using
5/5

I was already familiar with the square app, so I simply needed to integrate the chip reader into my routine. I also bought the charging dock based on reviews that reported that the device turned off very often. A dock seems like it would also make it easier to use the device in general. My chip reader can link to either of my square app devices (one is an Apple device, the other is an Android device) via Bluetooth without difficulty. The reader should be in its dock when I use it Even with it plugged in, I have never had trouble with it sleeping at inopportune times as other reviewers have discussed. With this new software I can now read chip cards and offer Droid/Apple pay to my customers, greatly increasing their satisfaction with my sales process. My little magstripe reader is more difficult to use than this one. In situations where I do not have access to power, I still use the dock/charging station because it allows me to reach the reader easily. Due to the fact that I must remove the reader and the locking piece from the top, I do not attach the locking piece to the top. Use it as soon as possible if it has gone too long without being used. An on/off button can be found on the bottom of the reader Since the dock is covered, it cannot be reached while it is in the water. The latter is a bit more inconvenient, but if it extends the battery life then I am fine As long as the locking end is not attached, the reader can be easily removed when needed. My overall experience with the purchase has been very positive. My business has experienced an increase in sales thanks to the combination of these 2 devices.

It is now possible for me to accept credit cards with or without the chip and also accept This kit includes the Contactless + Chip Reader to Tap and Dip, the Magstripe Card Reader to Swipe, USB charger for the chip reader, manual, and Square sticker so I no longer have to worry about clients not having cash or me not having the right change
5/5

It's a simple and easy process to set this up. No hidden fees, just a flat rate of 2. I appreciate that there are no hidden fees. A typical transaction will result in a 75% commission. I also love the fact that I can add my inventory to the system. I just forgot to mention, because I wish I knew when I set up my Square account, but new Square members can get free processing on up to $1000 in sales for 180 days by clicking on the referral link I showed you in my picture This is just passing along the savings to the owner of a small business. The following has been updated I've been really impressed with how long the charge lasts and how easy it is to use since I bought it. Aside from that, I'm also a big fan of square's free inventory.

Even if you don't sell anything, some sales will help! It is essential to have this
5/5

It's easy to steal and lose. A 75% charge per transaction
Confusion about the above fees
Confusion about the "mail sample" you sent in the first instance

Unknown/Not yet tested A Review of Customer Service*a Review of Printing Capabilities*a Review of Durability* A Review of Customer Service As you can see, when I ordered, the Square thingy and an adapter for cards were included with it. There was everything inside the box, packaged in a manner that looks more like it was made by Apple. Apple-style products look like they were made by Apple. Despite the poor quality and the fact that the product seems sturdy, I just like the comfort of not having to worry about breaking it by grabbing too hard. Setting up Squre is pretty along with your Business Account and Personal Account You will also need to enter your Zip Code, name, address, social security, and other information. Those are the kinds of questions a bank would ask. Your account will be linked and you'll be asked if you want them to send you the product or if you have it already. However, it charged me another $50 for the products that were supposed to be free, so when I tried to cancel, it would not let me. This is something I will have to confirm with customer service. I just put "charge me later" or something like that in the meantime. It can either be used with a chip reader or a swipe card thingy for transactions. To use it, open the app (abbreviated as "Register" in the apps menu), enter the amount and swipe the card thingy or the chip reader to make When it happens, the app will automatically detect it. Afterward, the customer signs on his or her Attempts to receive a receipt via email (or skips it). It was done in 3 days or less, you were allowed to withdraw your deposit. My sales have gone up despite the 2. It is faster for customers already familiar with it, and it allows them to make purchases faster than cash. There is a charge of 75% for the current period But here's the catch, whatever you enter in the phone is what you have to pay as a customer. It means that if you sell a product for a dollar, you make If the customer pays $1. 00, they pay $2. 00. There is a $0. 00 difference, but you will only get A 97 cent coin. For example, suppose you have to have a $1 profit margin. The general rule is Pricing is equal to Price * (100- The following formula is used r)/100

where Depending on your cash revenue goal, sales are equal to your desired sales. The amount of money being carried in cash, plus an interest rate of 2. 5%. The price is equal to the advertised amount.
$ = the advertised amount in cash. Approximately 75% of customers don't mind paying more because it is convenient to not have to go to an ATM wasting their time. Then, if you use credit card, about 1% of the payments will be returned to you, so it will be about 1. 25%. A 75% charge will be applied. The price is smaller than what you would expect for As for this issue, there are 3 options to choose from It seems to me that this is a great product overall. They liked the fact that we started taking cards when we started taking them. There was an increase of almost 30% in sales transactions. Now the majority of the company's income comes from online sales. Even though Apple Pay and Android Pay account for only 1% of total online transactions, it is a big plus.

We're inviting swipers to vote for their favorite! This is something I've used at many of the Arts &amp Sciences Fairs dedicated to crafts
5/5

I absolutely love how they work! When I have been at shows with a few hundred other merchants nearby, I have never had to wait more than a few seconds to get a good connection, which is a far cry from the several minute waits I often had with terminals that used The money was transferred to my account by Square One the next working day morning, so that's great! There is an excellent battery life, allowing you to play at least 40 cards between charges, but be sure to keep a USB charger with you!.

I'm giving you two for one! This package comes with both a regular card swiper and a chip-reader square, making it one of the best out there
5/5

In a world where so many credit cards will be chipped, it is great to still use regular credit cards as well.

It's important to read the small As far as I was concerned, there was no issue
3/5

"No, thank you" is what I replied after reading the fine print. It is possible for them to hold or cancel your payments at any time. No reason is given as to why the will be made. With no notification or dispute process in place, they can deny or cancel service for any reason at any time. For a small business owner such as myself, this is not feasible. I cannot afford for them to just say, "meh" they are not going to release your funds or "sorry" they are done and you don't always get a reason In the end, I went with paypal's payhere, and it worked well.
