In addition to taking care of 13 furry babies myself, I am a magnet for stray animals. This thing has been a lifesaver between all the stray animals that come to our land, and the fact that I have to keep my own babies updated on their microchips. The dog or cat does not have to be loaded into the car to be taken to the vet, I can take them home to be scanned. So far this device has made it possible for me to quickly return two dogs to their owners, and I reasonably anticipate using it heavily going forward. The charge lasts forever, the numbers are legible and easy to read, and stay onscreen long enough for me to write down their identities. The microchips haven't been missed yet, as it is able to pick them up very fast.
This item was delivered early and was in good shape - overall, I am extremely pleased with the product As I ordered online, the package arrived quick and it matched the description of the product. The scanner was light and small enough, and easy to use. Detecting the chip between my cat's shoulder blades took just seconds, and the screen with black numbers was easy to read. To save time, I used the most recent version of the program. The USB cable that comes with it allows it to be charged. This is a product I would recommend.
You will find this reader scanner on Amazon if you search for AVID MiniTracker I on Amazon, but don't buy it if your pet has an AVID There is no way for it to read or see The machine is a very nice little device at a good price. However, if you need to go through customs in Europe with your pet, which has a nine digit number, the machine cannot help you.
With this scanner, you can read 15 digit microchips easily and it's extremely fast. I was able to use it out of the box to test on my pets right away. There is a charger included with it. I love how easy it is Take a picture of the microchip number if you need to, by keeping your mobile phone close at hand. The ability to scan is handy to me since I work with a dog rescue and have many stray cats attracted to me. Whenever I need it, I will make sure to have this in my car. A 10 digit chip appears to be supported by this product, and a 15 digit chip is 100% certain to be supported. both PetLink and HomeAgain chips, and this scanner reads them easily. This is an excellent product at a great price, being very lightweight and great for travel.
What a waste of cash it is to claim it reads most. A microchip is read by a cat door I have. The scanner worked fine before but not this time. The reader was supposed to accept all types of data. A microchip from Avid is in my pocket. This number is known to me (I believe it's 9 digits). This is a very common occurrence. I Tried it, but it did not work. The rip off is on!.
This program works with every microchip I have ever tested. I recommend it. Throughout the past 5 months, *Update* has failed to function. I asked the company to refund me and return the defective item, but they sent a replacement instead of refunding me. As it turned out, I had decided to switch to a different brand.
It was a great microchip reader for the time.
Since they were taking head scratches, I thought it would be easy to scan them for microchips, and I ordered the kit. Due to the loud beeping, however, each of them backed away and are now afraid of me once more. This software does not have a setting to turn off the beeping sound, which is a huge flaw if you are scanning animals that aren't yours. As soon as I disassembled the back, I ripped the beeper off the circuit board. It now works perfectly and silently, but I shouldn't have had to technically damage it in order to achieve that.
