Crosscut 18 sheets was advertised. That is true, but with that many sheets, the cutter motor slows significantly. A dozen sheets of standard (to me) weight paper will suffice. Adding more sheets slows down the shredding process, so you'll need to figure out what your ideal sheet feed load is based on the type of paper you're shredding - It's a trade-off between speed and quantity. There are no instructions on when, how, or what to use to lubricate the cutters, only a warning not to use an aerosol spray (lubricant). So I went out and bought a bottle of Fellowes shredder lubricant, which turned out to be nothing more than regular canola (vegetable) oil. My previous cross cut shredder manual, for a Fellowes unit, advised lubricating after each bin dump, so I'll do the same with this Wolverine unit. br>br>It's a lot quieter than my previous Fellowes cross cut shredder, which lasted a long time.
This thing just eats whatever I can stuff into the feed slot. It's a little pricey, but it's well worth the money.
Wolverine provided no product support. 5/8/2021 Updating the Reviewsbr>It was discovered that the problem was due to a connector issue. It would sometimes work if you wiggled the cable. I contacted the manufacturer through the Amazon website, and after a few notes and emails, Wolverine called me directly to arrange for a replacement, rather than returning the broken one. br>Alan from Wolverine was fantastic, and a new Shredder arrived within a week. The new one arrived in its original box. And it seems to be working. Thank you for solving the problem, Wolverine. br>br>————br>I put my faith in the 18-page, 60-minute Wolverine. The Shredder, on the other hand, stopped working almost immediately after I opened the box, which was after 30 days. Amazon is unable to assist me, and I am unable to contact the Wolverine manufacturer or vendor. This has been going on for over three weeks and is extremely frustrating because all of my work is behind schedule. br>br>It would jam with two people. 3 pages, then 30 minutes to clear/ re-write it It's a large and heavy mshredder that you can flip upside down and clear jams with. To get the shredder to work, you must wiggle the power cord. 10 seconds at a time This is a broken shredder, and I'm still unable to contact customer service.
I can't believe this shredder kept going for six hours straight. I was able to feed ten sheets at a time and easily empty four large file cabinets. It's extremely quiet, and it's highly recommended. It was well worth the money because it saved me a lot of time.
It began to be turned off more frequently in order for it to be as strong as it had been when we first received it. It now shreds slowly and takes an eternity, and it no longer works as well as it did when I first bought it. It's slow and clumsy when it comes to shredding: (I never put more than about 10 sheets in at a time. ) Only use a rough estimate. We'll need a new shredder if we have to shred 7 at once. It didn't last very long.
I'd give it five stars because it works well, despite being a little loud. Due to the large size of the shredded paper, the tray quickly fills up. The problem is that emptying the tray is a chore because it fills up so much that you can't get it out without spilling paper, and emptying it is a mess. Aside from that, it works great, can feed multiple sheets at once, and doesn't clog like my previous one did. I would strongly advise!.
Exceptionally quiet. It doesn't come to a halt or become stuck in any way. In comparison to my previous Staples cross cut, LOUD, heavy duty piece of crap, I adore it. Because it's so loud, I can see clients and share without stopping.
This was not a good investment! I brought it because it claimed to be quiet, but it isn't! It's just like my old one in terms of volume.
