Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, lubricating the shredder with oil sheets or lubricant oil on a regular basis will help it run smoothly and last longer; however, if you clear the paper scraps from the cutters frequently and don't use the shredder frequently, you won't need to lubricate it.
I love mine; I've had others, but this one is the quietest. It's wide enough for a sheet of 8X11 paper, and it can handle several sheets at once. Just keep an eye out for the special DVD/CD catcher. Once a month, The Maids come in and empty the inner container, as well as the DVD/CD player. Even though I don't require it, I was disappointed when it was discarded.

I really enjoy shredding with this machine. It's only been a few weeks, but it's already exceeded my expectations. We bought this shredder primarily to recycle old Amazon boxes, newspapers, and junk mail, which will help us reduce our garbage waste. It can easily deal with two-person situations. If you're buying for recycling, you should also get Box Cutters from Amazon to make the process go more smoothly.
To begin with, it's extremely quiet. When compared to our old shredder, I couldn't even hear it. Second, when it's full, it has a large capacity bin that slides in and out easily. "Yo dawg, I heard you like shredder bins, so we put a shredder bin inside your shredder bin just for the CDs you shred," Xzibit told me. Third, the touch panel is stylish, contemporary, and simple to operate. But now comes the most exciting part: SHREDDING! We're using it in a commercial setting where we recently had to shred 900 credit cards, and it's a beast. It devoured three of them at a time, with no hesitation. Then we had to shred about 2100 heavy card stock cards (the same size as a CC), which it sliced through like butter with a hot knife. Zero lag. We ran single sheets and large bundles of stapled sheets, and it literally laughed at us. I also bought the lubricating sheets, which we used after we finished. I'm getting a little depressed now that I don't have anything else to destroy.
This is undeniably shreddable. That's the only reason I'd buy a shredder in the first place, so it needs to be good at it (which it is). It's also relatively quiet, especially when compared to the last one I had, which was quite old. br>br>However, this shredder fails to allow you to empty the shredded paper without making a HUGE mess. And by giant, I don't just mean a few feet tall. When you pull the drawer out from the shredder's side, you'll find not only shredded paper everywhere (photo 1), but also be prepared for an avalanche of shredded paper to fall down and spill all over your floor at the slightest movement (photo 2). It's extremely inconvenient. br>br>This is a major flaw in the design. This shredder cost nearly $200, and the problem has yet to be resolved? I'm also annoyed that only one other reviewer out of over 150 mentions this, and I believe they simply state, "emptying it is a major pain. " " No, that's not even close. Because this has been such a nightmare for me, I'm not sure how I can sell it on Craigslist in an ethical manner right now.
There are some good features, but there are a few that could be improved. What I like about it is that it can eat up to 12-pounds of food. 13 sheets of regular paper thickness It will eat smaller staples, which is convenient, and it will operate without overheating as advertised. It's on standby, so all I have to do now is drop a sheet in and it'll take care of the rest. shred. There isn't even a need for an on/off switch. The catch bucket is pulled out on wheels like a file cabinet drawer, but it does not retract completely. It's time to re-fill the catch bucket. think. There is no way to line it with plastic. It has protrusions on the inside that will catch any liner, forcing you to remove the bucket and dump it somewhere else. You can shred CDs and other items, and they'll fall into a smaller bucket that hooks or hangs inside the larger one, rather than getting mixed up with the paper. You don't want to leave it in there all the time because it will obstruct the regular shredding process. So I needed to figure out where I'd put that piece when it wasn't in use. I still like the unit because it is a commercial-grade middle of the pack unit that will get the job done around the house or for a small business.
The company goes above and beyond to ensure that their generous warranty is honored. I'm glad I went ahead and spent the extra money, even though it was more than I had planned. This is a nice-looking, compact shredder that has been happily shredding my old tax returns for a few days now. It accepts thick advertising envelopes without requiring me to open them, and it is unaffected by staples. When I use more than the recommended 12 sheets (maybe 14), the Bonsaii becomes slightly higher pitched for about a minute - But it gets the job done. It also easily grabbed onto sheets when I didn't insert them straight and didn't cause any issues. br>br>I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it is truly silent, and the noise it does make is neither offensive nor conversation-stopping. The bin easily rolls out for emptying, and the blue ready light isn't too bright. I wish the casters could move in all directions instead of just one. However, because there is no real resistance, it is easy to move sideways, forward, or backward. With large styrofoam supports, the shredder was well-protected. Despite the fact that it was a large box, the shredder arrived in perfect condition. br>11/2018 EDIT My beloved shredder, to my surprise, refused to accept a CD and refused to accept anything else I put in that slot. Aside from that, it kept running smoothly. I asked what could be done to possibly fix this in a question. Within about 24 hours, Bonsaii Customer Support emailed me to apologize for the error. They requested that I film the attempt to shred a CD so that they could diagnose the problem. They continued to follow up until the video arrived. The next day, they wrote to say that something had broken in the CD shredding assembly and that they would send me a new shredder because it was still under warranty. I didn't have to send back the one that was damaged. I got a tracking number after double-checking my delivery address. I received the replacement shredder three days later, and it works perfectly and shreds CDs without difficulty. I was even more impressed when Bonsaii delivered the exact color I had requested. br>I'd give it six stars if I had the option. This was excellent customer service, and it demonstrated the company's commitment to honoring a sizable Warranty without causing any inconvenience to the customer. BRAVO! br>.
This shredder got off to a good start. It stopped working after one year and three uses during tax season (it comes with a two-year warranty). BONSAI was the one who contacted me. A NIGHTMARE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE I still haven't received a refund or a new shredder after more than a year. All I got was a roundabout response. After months of waiting, I was informed that the unit was no longer available and that they would not be able to replace it. They do, however, have new models that could have been used in its place. There has also been no refund. Because the person you speak with is not an employee of the company but rather a middleman, they are unable to provide you with any information. A WORTHLESS PRINTER COMES WITH A WORTHLESS WARRANTY.
